EAST END KID by Emily Hart Post

MY fIRST WEEKEND IN HAMPTONS THIS SEASON

THE

We drove a long way to get from the city to the Ross School. It was the time to pick camp “majors”

for the summer. I signed up for Nature Explorers because I love science and nature. After eating lots of cookies from the cooking class, I met my friend Gage Silver who used to go to the Chapin School and now lives in the Hamptons. I also saw my friend Johnny Cook from last summer. We went to town in Southampton and we saw a pink whale—a pink whale? Then we saw a real celebrity—Joe Biden the Vice President of the U.S.A.! We did not ask to get a picture because of his guards, but he gave me a

Yummy!

big smile and a private wave. We then went to Kites for a Cure on the beach. I flew the kite for five minutes and spent 30 minutes untangling its string. Other than my lack of expertise, flying it was fun. I got a surprise and got to see Kung Foo Panda Two. Day Two—I went to Dede’s opening party at the Southampton Inn and met some new kids including Quincy Morgan and then we went to Planned Parenthood where most everyone was older than me. My weekend is over and I need some rest!
