The Sugar Land Heritage Foundation Museum offers an in-depth examination of Sugar Land’s history and its rich heritage, as well as broader discussions of Fort Bend County, Texas, and U.S. history - with a particular emphasis on their connections to Sugar Land. Afterward, we will dine at Razzoo’s Cajun Cafe for lunch; price is not included. The departure from Jimmy Burke will be at 9:30am, so arrive 15 minutes prior.

Join us for a visit to the Geoscience Center & Museum! The Center showcases artifacts and materials from various historical periods, starting from the 1920s. The museum accepts artifacts, photos, and other items that document the rich history of the geophysical profession and related industries. To complete the day, we will stop at Kirby Ice House for a delightful meal and to appreciate the outdoor surroundings. The departure time from Jimmy Burke is 11:45am; arrive 15 minutes earlier for check-in.

It is with great pleasure that we introduce Luke Ward as our part-time employee of the quarter for the last quarter of 2023. Luke has served the swimming community for five years, transitioning from lifeguard to lifeguard trainer and now being a pool manager. As a result of his dedication and hard work, safety standards have been maintained, chemicals have been managed, and the staff has been trained. Luke’s contributions have undoubtedly been invaluable in ensuring the pool’s summer success. Congratulations, Luke, on this well-deserved recognition! Part-time employees play a crucial role in our organization, offering flexibility and valuable contributions across the Parks and Recreation Department. Their importance lies in their ability to fill essential roles, especially during peak hours or seasons, without requiring full-time commitments.
