Mission Statement District 19 is an in-and-out, no-frills, clothes and accessories shopping experience for young urban men between the ages of 18 and 30 who want to find all the essentials in one place that say I'm in control at work, I'm hip when hanging with friends, and I'm confident on that first date - all without breaking the bank.
Mission Philosophy District 19 is an in-and-out, one-stop, clothes and accessories shopping experience for young urban men between the ages of 18 and 30 who want to stay on trend without burning a hole in their pockets. At District 19 we understand how men want to shop. We streamline our customer’s shopping experience: no frills, no clutter, no nonsense. At District 19 you’ll find all the essentials in one place that say I'm in control at work, I'm hip when hanging with friends, and I'm confident on that first date. District 19 is a specialty store whose flagship is located on Rush St. off of Walton in Chicago. There are additional locations in Chicago’s Lincoln Park area, as well as in Los Angeles and New York. I will introduce my product on the selling floor in January 2015 and will close out the remainder of the collection in July 2015.

A Day in the Life… Derek Martin wakes up every weekday at 7am. He throws on a pair of sweats and slips into the Ugg slippers his mom got him for Christmas last year and takes his French bulldog Ranger for a walk. Then he hops in the shower, gets dressed, slams a protein shake and walks to the Fullerton CTA stop where he boards the Brown Line which takes him to his job in the Loop. He works at Cars.com selling advertising space. He likes the company and the people he works with are “chill.” They remind Derek of the guys in his frat at University of Iowa. And the girls at Cars are even more smoking’ than the girls were in college. After work he goes to LPAC to run and lift. When he gets home he feeds Ranger, cooks himself some fish and vegetables (he gained some holiday partying weight which he is trying to lose, otherwise he would probably treat himself to some wings or a cheeseburger on a snowy night like this)and watches last nights “Family Guy” with his roommate, Sean. After dinner he and Sean play X-Box for a while before Derek and Ranger retreat into the bedroom. Derek checks his email, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and then surfs the web for a while before stopping on TubeX which he enjoys until he falls asleep, just to do it all again the next day.
