A few years ago, the Flesch brothers purchased a portion of the Eichmeyer family farm positioned on the river bluffs near Marthasville, Missouri. The property had a circa 1870’s farmhouse that was uninhabited for quite some time. The brothers cleared the land and established the vineyards on the property. Partners Don Flesch and Henry Slodkowski, joined in to begin the restoration of the buildings. Lake Creek Winery is now a beautiful place with picturesque views, patios, gardens, and a fully restored farmhouse. The winery borrows its name from the German settled region, Lake Creek. The region was originally recognized for its similar climate and soils to those found in grape growing regions in Germany. Today, Lake Creek Winery offers the very best in Missouri wines, paying attention to producing wines that pay homage to the region and the brother’s German heritage.

McKelvey Vineyards is bringing a new generation of wines to Missouri, expertly crafted with love for the land and featuring blends and techniques that are original to the local landscape. Flavor, innovation and creativity are at the heart of every bottle. Breathtaking views and historic renovations set the scene for your most important moments and remarkable celebrations you wish would never end. Lush landscapes and sophisticated charm compose the perfect setting for weddings, anniversaries, receptions, celebrations of life, holiday parties and more. From intimate gatherings to extravagant affairs, the service is exceptional and the photo opportunities are endless. Make a trip to the picturesque Missouri River Valley to see their historical property, stunning views and friendly staff. They can’t wait to have a glass of wine with you.

The Augusta region was nationally known for its wine during the 19th century, but Prohibition halted the state’s winemaking for decades. Then, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, a few pioneering souls began to refurbish the old vineyards and winery buildings. The secret to their success in producing outstanding wines is their vineyards. The Augusta area was chosen as the first viticultural area in the United States because of the unique soils, microclimate, and history, and their mission is to produce wines that exemplify the uniqueness of this eleven square mile area. As a result, Montelle’s wines are fresh, fragrant, focused, and well balanced, but most of all, express the uniqueness of their vineyards. The next time you have a meeting, event or just a weekend outing to plan, please keep “Missouri’s most scenic winery” in mind.

With more than 150 years of winemaking excellence, Mount Pleasant Estates is what every Missouri winery aspires to be. Experience the serenity of relaxing on Mount Pleasant’s patio with sweeping vista views. Enjoy a meal artfully prepared by the chef in residence at Mount Pleasant’s Appellation Café. Discover the charm and history of old world winemaking. Taste the richness and variety of Mount Pleasant’s award-winning wines. Mount Pleasant Estates grows its grapes locally in the Augusta Appellation, the first government-appointed wine-growing district in the United States. As the largest purveyor of Augusta Appellation wine, the proprietors of Mount Pleasant Estates hold their product to a high standard and strive to ensure that Augusta remains one of the leading viticultural areas of America. Fine wine, great food, and the perfect environment. Savor the serenity. Enjoy the experience.

A love for wine and a passion for the area’s history turned the dream of owning a vineyard into a reality. In March 2005, Bob and Lou Ann Nolan purchased 84 acres in Augusta, Missouri and began to transform it into the winery you see today. Four varieties of Missouri grapes: Chambourcin, Traminette, Norton, and Vignoles were planted and now grace the hills of the estate. Since opening, Noboleis has expanded both the vineyards and the business. From growing to over 30 wines in their portfolio, to pursuing the wholesale market, to offering vineyard weddings for up to 200 guests, Noboleis is absolutely blooming and looks forward to what the future holds. Their award-winning vineyard is nestled in the rolling hills of the historic Augusta AVA (American Viticultural Area) - America's first officially recognized wine-growing region. Enjoy a bottle of Noboleis wine today!

Small Batch Winery is a family-owned and operated micro-winery established in 2010 in Wentzville, MO. True to their name, they make wines in small batches allowing involvement in each and every step from fermentation to the bottling and labeling of finished wines. Small Batch Winery specializes in easy to drink wines that are affectionately nicknamed “Patio Pounders”. These fruit forward, semi-sweet wines are perfect for any evening or Sunday afternoon relaxing on the patio. Be sure to try all of their one-of-a-kind flavors like Southern Nectar, Ally’s Green Apple, Island Breez, or Pomegranate. You can find their wine in person at the winery and on their website, as well as locally at I.B. Nuts & Fruit Too and Hillermann Nursery & Florist.

Nestled among the rolling hillsides of the Missouri River, in a countryside reminiscent of Germany's Rhine Valley, is the little town of Hermann. Established in 1847, Stone Hill grew to be the second largest winery in the U.S. The wines were world renowned, winning gold medals in eight world's fairs. By the turn of the century, the winery was shipping 1,250,000 gallons of wine per year. Unfortunately, Prohibition destroyed the wine industry in the 1920’s, and the winery's spectacular arched, underground cellars were used to grow mushrooms. In 1965, Jim and Betty Held bought the winery and began the process of restoring its picturesque buildings and vaulted underground cellars. Today, Stone Hill is Missouri's oldest and most awarded winery. In 2008, Stone Hill produced 260,000 gallons of wine, using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technology.

At St. James Winery, they make wine that reflects where they’re from — the Meramec Highlands. When they opened St. James Winery in 1970, Jim and Pat Hofherr reinvigorated the local Italian wine heritage by creating wines that were easy to drink and share with friends and family. Since then, their one and only focus has always been to make delicious wine. St. James is the most awarded winery in Missouri, and they are consistently among the top five most medal-winning wineries in the country. The Meramec Highlands provide winemaking conditions unlike any other region in the world — and that’s not an exaggeration. Missouri’s distinctive weather patterns and the unique soil in our vineyards are exactly what is needed to make wines that continue to win fans from around the world. Plan your visit to St. James Winery, the perfect destination for all wine lovers.

White Mule Winery has utilized an existing barn and several 100+ year old reconstructed barns to create a unique atmosphere where you can see into the past to the traditions and values of a time worth reminiscing. The farmstead sat directly behind the old Charlotte store and post office. The Schlottach Family acquired the neighboring Roethemeyer Farm in 2004, planted their first vineyard, and restored the old house, naming it The White Mule. The Roethemeyer family was one of the last of the old time farm families in the area still using a pair of white mules to farm their land into the 1980’s. The mules had a favored pasture right along a sharp curve on Highway 50 allowing local truckers to dub the curve “White Mule Curve.” Join them to try their wines, listen to a few more interesting stories about the White Mule, and get a little taste of great American history.
