CRHRDC conducts Orientation on its PPAs for CY 2023

The Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC), through its Research Management Committee (RMC), spearheaded the promotion of health research engagements and opportunities through the Orientation on the CRHRDC Policies, Programs, and Activities (PPAs) on 23 March 2023 at the RCD Dome, University of Baguio, General Luna, Baguio City.

Participants from the academe, private sectors, government, and hospitals institutions under the CRHRDC Member institutions were provided with updates and continuing opportunities that health researchers can take part as the Orientation highlights the assistance for beginning researchers as it is the primary goal of the consortium to equip and train researchers in the region.

The activity was graced by the welcome remarks of Dr. Nancy A. Bantog, the Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology –Cordillera Administrative Region, bringing attention to the importance of the involvement of health research in the mandate of the DOST Research and Development in responding to the needs of our community.

Ms. Maria Rowena C. Madarang, the consortium director of the CRHRDC, discussed the consortium overview and its mandate. She emphasized its role in empowering health researchers, whether new or seasoned researchers in the region, to pursue and promote innovation and timely and relevant ideas.

Moreover, Dr. Marie Ellaine N. Velasquez, the RMC Chair, presented information on the available grants and funding opportunities, including the identified priorities that answer the region’s needs following the Regional Unified Health Research Agenda.

In addition, succeeding CRHRDC activities of the other three committees (training, workshops, conference, and forums) were presented by Ms. Lilia Say-awen (co-chair, Research Ethics Committee), Mr. Jayson Bimuyag (co-chair, Capacity Building Committee), and Dr. Donnabel T. Panes (chair, Research Utilization Committee) so the participants could anticipate which programs/activities they would participate in for CY 2023.
