DOST-CAR revitalizes weaving in Apayao ■ JOVIE

The DOST-CAR through its Provincial Science and Technology Office-Apayao (PSTO-Apayao) aided the Conner Weavers Association (CWA) through Community Based Project (CBP) on loom weaving.

The project is in response to the call of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Apayao (PLGU-Apayao) for the revitalization of the weaving industry and establishment of weaving centers in all of the municipalities in the province.

DOST CAR Regional Director Dr. Nancy A. Bantog together with PSTO-Apayao team headed by Engr. Debbie Glynn V.

Manangkil awarded three (3) units of therapeutic loom weaving equipment and two (2) units of sewing machines to the officers and members of the association on February 12, 2023.

Likewise, technology training on Basic and Advanced Loom Weaving will also be conducted as part of the project to capacitate the members, as well as provision of the product label to improve the marketing aspect of their loom woven products.

In her message, Dir. Bantog encouraged the association to maximize the utilization of the equipment. She also challenged the association that in the future, she would love to witness
