O H I O B O B CAT C L U B MESSAGE FROM JIM SCHAUS dIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Since its establishment in 2006, the Ohio Bobcat Club and its members have done their part to make a difference in the lives of our student-athletes. Over the past six years, our teams and student-athletes have reached new heights across the board and your contributions are a large part of that success.

Message from Jim Schaus...............................................A

During the 2012-13 school year, our department will face new challenges that your continued backing of the Bobcats will help us to overcome. In order to compensate for a reduction in institutional financial support for scholarships, we must generate new scholarship funding by $50,000 this year (and $150,000 over the next three years). This is a sizeable increase and one that will take your participation for us to remain on the level we are now.

Benefits Chart................................................................3

To reach this lofty goal and to ensure our current and future success, I have asked the Ohio Bobcat Club staff to take the following steps:

Your Membership Guide...................................................2

Football Ticket and Parking Benefits..................................3 Ohio Football: Donor Premium Seating Options....................4 Football Seating and Parking............................................4 Basketball Seating and Parking........................................5

• Increase the value of Ohio Bobcat Club benefits as a THANK YOU to our donors. • Enhance our hospitality areas for home football and men’s basketball games. • Seek new revenue generating seating options at home football and men’s basketball games.

Ohio Basketball: Donor Premium Seating Options................5

There are some exciting and important changes this year for our Ohio Bobcat Club members. Please read through this brochure to learn more and take note of the many ways you can IMPACT our student-athletes and teams with your support.

Ways to Join..................................................................6

Finally, I would urge you to consider making an increase in your contribution this year. Just think, if each Ohio Bobcat Club member increased their annual support by 10%, our programs would have more than $100,000 of additional funding, and those dollars would go a long way!

Bobcat Representative Program........................................8

Ohio Bobcat Club members have been a key factor in our incredible progress over the last few years. I feel blessed to be at an institution where our alumni, fans, and friends have such a positive impact on our overall athletic program and for that, I THANK YOU. Go Bobcats!

Jim Schaus Director of Athletics

Ohio Bobcat Club Impact Support our Ohio Bobcat Club members provide allow our student-athletes to have a one of a kind experience and allow our coaches to help prepare them for life after graduation. Below you will find how our student-athletes and coaches are making a difference.

Joe Carbone After 24 years as Ohio Baseball’s head coach, Joe Carbone has announced he will be stepping down following the 2012 season. Carbone leaves the program as Ohio’s all-time winningest coach, his team’s claimed two MAC titles, and boasted a graduation rate that ranks Ohio in the 99th percentile of all Division I baseball. In 2011, Carbone was inducted into the Kermit Blosser Ohio University Hall of Fame as both a player and coach, also recognizing his accomplishments as a Bobcat student-athlete where he was a team captain on Ohio’s 1970 College World Series team. The Ohio Bobcat Club and its members would all like to thank Joe for his tremendous service to Ohio Athletics. We appreciate all that you have done and wish you the best in retirement!

My time at Ohio has been a heck of a ride. Working with such great players, coaches, and staff members has been amazing. Ohio Bobcat Club members, I would like to thank you for your support of Ohio Baseball and Ohio Athletics. You truly made a difference over the years and have made an impact on me and our student-athletes. I will always be appreciative for what you have done and will do, Go Bobcats!” – Joe Carbone

Jordan Thompson Football Over the course of his four-year athletics career at Ohio University, senior tight end Jordan Thompson has established himself as a model student-athlete for the Bobcats. In 2011, he posted career-highs in both receptions and receiving yards, while serving as a team captain. Off the field, he has volunteered to mow the lawn at the United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Regional Ohio Food Bank and participated in the Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Special Olympics in Athens, Ohio. With all his charity work and commitments to being a collegiate athlete, Thompson has still maintained a strong balance with his school work. As an engineering major, he has maintained a steady 3.379 grade point average and in 2010 he was named to the All-MAC Academic Team. Following the year, he was honored at the 2011 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl as the Humanitarian Award Winner. In addition, he was named Honorable Mention to the All-MAC Academic Team.

JEN MCGILL FIELD HOCKEY Ohio University senior Jen McGill has helped take the Bobcats’ field hockey program to a new level over the past four years. As a goalie for the Bobcats, McGill helped Ohio to 19 wins, a MAC regular season title and MAC tournament crown in 2011. Following the year, she was named All-MAC and was selected to the conference All-Tournament Team. She finished second in the nation in goals-against average (0.82) and placed eighth in the nation in save percentage (.778). The Louisville native notched 10 shutouts to lead the MAC and was named MAC Defensive Player of the Week back in October. Off the field McGill is equally as impressive, earning All-MAC and NFHCA Academic honors in each of the last three years. In addition, McGill has teamed up with the National Bone Marrow Registry to sign up players, families, and friends to be on the Be the Match Foundation.
