Día de Muertos Vs. Halloween Cada año, familias, escuelas y establecimientos de todo México, muestran a niños y adolescentes los rituales del Día de Muertos. Las familias y los estudiantes de todos los niveles se encargan de preparar los más creativos altares de muerto. Pero solo un par de días antes, los mexicanos se disfrazan de brujas, monstruos o personajes de terror; van a fiestas, participan en concursos por el mejor atuendo y luego, en las noches, llevan a los niños a pedir ‘Halloween’, la tan comercial celebración anglosajona. En México, muchos han adoptado esta festividad, más como una especie de juego donde se permite, por un día, adoptar otra personalidad malvada y divertida, que como una celebración espiritual. ¿Quién gana? Todo indica que en México la tradición sigue triunfando por encima de cualquier otra celebración extranjera. O bien podría ser que las dos festividades, después de tantos años de convivencia, la gente las ha adoptado, respetando la diversión que representa la americana y el simbolismo y espiritualidad que brinda nuestra tradición. Pero lo importante es que no se pierdan las tradiciones, ya sea el Día de Muertos o la de Halloween y disfrutemos con responsabilidad dichas fiestas. Y por supuesto que dos8 estará cubriendo las dos festividades y todo lo que suceda alrededor, por lo pronto disfruta al máximo nuestra edición número 14 de dos8 en la cual agradecemos a Daniel Zanardi y Ashanti Ramos por ser nuestra imagen de portada y además los felicitamos, porque al cierre de edición de esta revista, ya nació la bella Ashlyn.
Every year, families, schools and establishments all over Mexico, show kids and Young people the rituals of Day of the Death. Families and students of all levels managed to prepare the most creative dead altars. But only a couple of days before, Mexicans disguised as witches, monsters or horror characters, go to parties and participate in contests for the best disguise and then, at night, take the kids to “trick or treat”, the so commercial American tradition. In Mexico, a lot of people have adopted this holiday, more like a game where for one day you can adopt an evil and fun personality, than like a spiritual celebration. Who wins? Everything indicates that in Mexico tradition still succeeds over any other foreign celebration. Or it could be both celebrations, after all these years of coexistence, people have adopted them, respecting the fun that represents the American one and the symbolism and spirituality that offers our tradition. But the important thing is that we don’t lose any tradition, either Day of the Death or Halloween and that we enjoy with responsibility these holidays. And of course dos8 is covering both festivities and everything around them, but for now enjoy our 14 edition of dos8 in which we thank Daniel Zanardi and Ashanti Ramos for being the image of our cover and we also congratulate them because at the close of this edition of this magazine, the beautiful Ashlyn was born.

E
l pasado 6 de septiembre, el Colegio Campoverde recibió el mes patrio con una gran celebración en sus cómodas instalaciones, ya que llevó a cabo un deslumbrante evento con pequeñines vestidos de revolucionarios y guerrilleras de la época. El evento fue todo un éxito, a pesar de que la lluvia quiso hacerse presente por algunos momentos. Todos los presentes pasaron momentos muy agradables, pues se contó con la asistencia de maestros, alumnos y padres de familia. Hubo mucho movimiento por parte del staff del colegio, ya que para el entretenimiento de los asistentes, se montó un gran escenario, un pequeño parque de diversiones para los pequeños y un gran número de actividades divertidas por parte de las misses, porque aparte de su aportación para hacer divertir a los presentes, ofrecieron una buena cantidad de comida tradicional mexicana para deleite de todos.

CAMPOVERDE`S MEXICAN PARTY Last September 6th, Campoverde School welcome the patriotic month with a big celebration in its comfortable facilities, throwing a dazzling event with little boys dressed as revolutionaries and little girls as warriors like in 1810. The event was a huge success, despite the fact that they had broadcasted rain, everyone had a very nice time, with the presence of teachers, students and parents. For the entertainment of the attendants the school staff assembled a big stage, a little amusement park for the kids, and different fun activities organized by the teachers. Besides their contribution to amuse everyone, they offered a lot of traditional Mexican food for everyone to enjoy.

l día viernes 13 del mes patrio, estuvimos en las instalaciones de Gymboree Nuevo Vallarta, que nos sorprendió con una gran Kermesse en la que vivimos una tarde de mucha diversión, ya que todos los niños asistieron disfrazados de los personajes de la Independencia de México y se contó con juegos tradicionales como las canicas, lotería, romper los globos, paseo en ponis y una gran cantidad de actividades y antojitos mexicanos que los pequeñines disfrutaron al máximo junto con sus papás. ¡Orgullosos somos mexicanos! A KERMESSE AFTERNOON IN NUEVO VALLARTA GYMBOREE On Friday 13th of this patriotic month, we were at the Nuevo Vallarta Gymboree facilities, which surprise us with a great event in which we had an evening of great fun, because all the children attended dressed as the characters of the Independence of Mexico and there were traditional games such as, marbles, lottery, break balloons, pony ride and lots of activities, and Mexican food that the little ones enjoyed the most along with their parents. We are proudly Mexicans!

Antes más de 6 mil 500 vallartenses e invitados especiales, el presidente municipal, Ramón Guerrero Martínez, presentó su primer informe de resultados, en el que los temas de justicia social y la reconstrucción del destino a partir de sus colonias, son piezas clave en este primer año. El primer edil destacó que como fue su compromiso, en este gobierno se ha hecho más con menos recursos, por lo que la delicada situación económica no ha sido un impedimento para trabajar en beneficio de quienes más lo necesitan, mediante la creación de un plan de desarrollo en el que se escucharon las inquietudes de la gente, resultando cinco ejes esenciales: tener una ciudad limpia, una ciudad segura, una ciudad amigable, una ciudad de todos y una ciudad próspera.

The Mayor highlighted that in this government, he has been working harder with less resources, there for the delicate economy hasn`t been an issue to work in benefit of those who need it the most, by the creation of a plan where people needs were heard, leaving by result five essential points: to have a clean city, a safe city, a friendly city, a city of all and a prosper city; just like he committed to. “We are changing the history of the city, we knew the challenge would be huge but we also knew that the backup we had in the polls, would help us go forward” said Ramón Guerrero, who also made a call to councilors and government employees of Vallarta to

keep increasing the effort for the benefit of Puerto Vallarta. In this act the Mayor counted with the presence of Clemente Castañeda, local Deputy, in representation of the legislative power, the Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works of the State Government, Roberto Dávalos López, in representation of the State Governor and with the Third Civil Judge Jesús Carlos Rivera de Anda of the judicial power. na padrísima Noche Disco se efectuó el 30 de agosto en Mangos Beach Club, en donde se llevó a cabo una recreación de la época de la música disco de los años 70’sy 80’s, ya que la Asociación Mexicana de Mujeres Empresarias (AMMJE) organizó esta divertida fiesta retro en la que se recaudaron fondos para apoyar tanto las ideas, como las instalaciones de estas grandes mujeres visionarias del medio ejecutivo y empresarial. Para dos8 fue un verdadero placer ser invitado a presenciar este evento que resultó muy divertido para todos los asistentes, además de la buena causa que representó para las socias de la AMMJE. Esta Asociación Mexicana de Mujeres Empresarias, es una organización civil que agrupa a mujeres propietarias o accionarias de micros, medianas y grandes empresas. Los beneficios de trabajar con estas grandes mujeres son: Fomentar el desarrollo empresarial a través de intercambio de experiencia entre las empresarias y ofrecer información actualizada para una dirección más efectiva de sus negocios.

l día 13 de Septiembre de nuestro queridísimo mes patrio, nos dimos cita en las instalaciones del Colegio Tepeyac, ya que todos los alumnos más pequeños asistieron disfrazados de los personajes de la Independencia de México con motivo del 15 de Septiembre. Las maestras organizaron un convivio en cada salón y todos los chiquitines se la pasaron excelente, ya que recibieron paletas, golosinas, palomitas, duritos y muchas cosas más. ¡¡Viva México!!

Es un honor para dos8, presentar en nuestra portada a Daniel Zanardi y Ashanti Ramos y en entrevista conocimos algunos aspectos de su vida personal y profesional. dos8: ¿Cómo se conocieron? Daniel: Nos presentó una amiga en común; me presumió que tenía una amiga muy guapa para mí, de hecho me dijo que seríamos buena pareja jaja. dos8: ¿Cómo le entregaste el anillo de compromiso? Daniel: Cuando empezamos esto de casarnos, yo vivía en Cabo San Lucas y me di cuenta que ya no era tan fácil estar separados y en una oportunidad que tuve para venir a Vallarta, la llevé a la playa de Bucerías y en plena noche le entregué un anillo que me tardé en escoger ¡cerca de 3 horas! dos8: ¿Cuántos años de casados? Daniel: Este febrero cumplimos 7 años de casados, de estar juntos 9 y nunca terminamos, ¡ni un solo día! dos8: ¿Cuánto tiempo llevan viviendo en Vallarta? Daniel: Ashanti es de Vallarta y yo soy de México, D.F. y tengo 14 años que me vine a estas playas. Ya nos tocó vivir dos años en Cabo San Lucas y uno en Mazatlán, pero decidimos quedarnos en Vallarta.
dos8: ¿A qué se dedican? Daniel: Ashanti administra un restaurant familiar en Bucerías y yo soy Gerente General de La Patrona 93.5 FM dos8: Al momento de tomar las fotos estaban esperando a su primera hija, el sentimiento de ser padres es indescriptible, pero ¿cómo fue ese momento? Daniel: Ashlyn nació a las 11:20 am. Desde las 10 ya estaba súper nervioso, entré al quirófano a grabar todo y el momento más inolvidable, es cuando vi que empezó a salir, la bebe lloró y el doctor dijo ¡hay vida! Inolvidable ese momento. dos8: Acaba de nacer su niña, ¿qué valores son los que le inculcarán? Daniel: La gratitud es el valor más grande que el ser humano puede poseer, en él confluyen el resto de valores, el ser agradecido, amistad, lealtad, honradez, etc. Pero el que considero esencial, es la gratitud. dos8: Como nuevos padres de familia ¿qué consejos les darían a los jóvenes de esta generación? Daniel: Que vivan su juventud. Hoy en día las familias se forman de padres bastante jóvenes, hablando que hay parejas de entre 15 y 16 años unidas por un hijo. Todo a su tiempo, la juventud es para disfrutarse, llenarse de conocimientos y así poder disfrutar de una familia. dos8: Como familia ¿cómo ven la situación del país?
Daniel: Pues como familia siempre se tiene una visión de que con esfuerzo, se puede salir adelante. Económicamente, el país nunca ha tenido condiciones de bonanza, pero los mexicanos hemos desarrollado en cada familia formas de salir adelante. Preocupa la seguridad, sobre todo el tema de adicciones, pero entonces por eso, hay que hacer un esfuerzo enorme de comunicación en casa, en familia y todos aspiramos a que México sea un mejor país y que seamos una sociedad mejor, pero eso pasa por el trabajo en cada familia. dos8: ¿Vallarta es un lugar paradisiaco para vivir? Daniel: Vallarta si es un lugar paradisiaco, hermoso, tiene costa, sierra, selva, playa, pero Vallarta es más que eso: es gente, es tradición, hospitalidad, un lugar que tiene oportunidades, que recibe a gente de otras latitudes que vienen a trabajar. Vallarta es un paraíso cosmopolita. dos8: ¿Como es un día en su familia? Daniel: El día básico para reunirnos, es el domingo. Puede ser en la alberca o ya sabes, el típico día de comer y acostarse a ver buenas películas! dos8: ¿Cuál es tu opinión sobre dos8? Daniel: Es una revista al alcance de todos, con información y cobertura de eventos para todas las edades, que eso es lo mejor, tenemos que poner mayor atención a los niños, que son el futuro de este país.

It´s an honor to dos8, to present in our cover Daniel Zanardi and Ashanti Ramos, and in interview with them, we got to know some aspects of their personal and professional life. Dos8: How did you two meet? Daniel: we were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, she told me she had a very beautiful friend for me, in fact she said we would make a niece couple haha Dos8: How did you proposed? Daniel: when we started thinking about getting married, I was living in Cabo San Lucas and I realized it wasn’t easy to be apart from her, so in an opportunity I had to come to Vallarta, I took her to Bucerias and in the middle of the night I gave her the ring. It took me almost 3 hours to choose it!! Dos8: How long have you been married? Daniel: in February it will be 7 years, but we’ve been 9 years together and we never broke up! Not even a single day! Dos8: how long have you been living in Vallarta? Daniel: Ashanti is from Vallarta and I am from Mexico DF, and it’s been 14 years since I came to these
beaches,. We lived 2 years in Cabo San Lucas and one in Mazatlan, but we decided to stay in Vallarta. Dos8: what do you do for a living? Daniel: Ashanti runs a family restaurant in Bucerias and I am the general manager of La Patrona 93.5 FM Dos8: When we took the pictures for dos8, you were expecting your first daughter, the feeling of being parents for the first time is indescribable, but how was the moment? Daniel: Ashlyn was born at 11:20 am. Since 10.00 am I was already nervous, I came in the OR to record everything and the most unforgettable moment was when I saw her starting to come out, the baby cried and the doctor said: There is live! Unforgettable that moment! Dos8: your girl has just burn, what values are you going to teach her? Daniel: gratitude it’s the most important value a human being can have, in it converges the rest of them, to be thankful, friendship, loyalty, honesty, etc. but the one I consider essential is gratitude! Dos8: as new parents, what advice can you give to the young people of this generation? Daniel: to live their youth. Nowadays families are starting with very young parents, talking that there are couples between 15 and 16 years old joined by a child. All in good time! Youth is to be enjoyed to fill with knowledge so you can enjoy your family.
Dos8: as a family, how do you see the situation of this country? Daniel: well, as a family you always have a vision that with effort you can fulfill. Economically, the country has never been wealthy, but we Mexicans developed in each family ways to go through with that. Security concerns, specially the topic of addictions, but that’s why we have to make a huge effort to communicate with the family. Everyone aspires that Mexico will be a better country and a better society, but that happens with the work of every family. Dos8: Is Vallarta a paradisiac place to live in? Daniel: Vallarta is a paradisiac place, beautiful, it has the coast, mountain range, jungle, beaches but Vallarta its more than that: its people, tradition, hospitality, a place of opportunities that welcomes people from, other latitudes that come to work. Vallarta it’s a cosmopolitan paradise. Dos8: How is a family day for you? Daniel: the basic day to get together is Sunday. It could be by the pool or you know, eat and watch good movies. Dos8: what do you thing about dos8? Daniel: it is a magazine within reach to everyone, with information and coverage of events for all ages, which is the best, we have to give more attention to kids, they are the future of this country.

l día 15 de septiembre, se celebró el tradicional Grito de la Independencia de México en el yate Canuwa a partir de las 8:30 pm, evento al que asistieron cerca de 90 personas que pasaron una noche de gran diversión y convivencia, sin faltar deliciosa comida mexicana, como tacos dorados, sopes, pozole, etc. A las 12 de la noche, se dio el Grito con vista al malecón, en el que la gente pudo admirar los fuegos artificiales. Esta fue una excelente noche, junto con nuestro queridísimo amigo Oscar Hidalgo, Director Cruise de Canuwa, quien dirigió unas palabras, agradeciendo a todos por haber asistido al Canuwa en esta noche tan especial y ¡que viva México!

BIG MEXICAN NIGHT AT THE CANUWA On September 15th, the celebration of the traditional “Grito de Independencia” took place on the Canuwa yacht, starting at 8:30 p.m., where around 90 people spent a night of fun and fellowship`, without missing delicious Mexican food like tacos, sopes, pozole, etc. At 12 a.m. the “Grito” was given, overlooking the boardwalk, where people could admire the fireworks. This was an excellent night, along with our dear friend Oscar Hidalgo, Director Cruise of Canuwa, who spoke a few words thanking everyone for attending the Canuwa on this special night. Viva Mexico! LAS, Escuela de Canto, tuvo un gran motivo para celebrar, ya que cumplió su primer aniversario el pasado 14 de septiembre y decidieron festejarlo en el Malecón, frente a Roo. ALAS, Escuela de Canto, nació en septiembre de 2012 y surgió de la necesidad de formar un espacio de expresión para los niños y jóvenes por medio del canto. Principalmente surge formando un coro de voces jóvenes, a través de un ensamble de 12 voces que poco a poco fue creciendo hasta llegar a 60, todos entre los 3 y 29 años de edad. ALAS, Escuela de Canto, ha cantado en diversos eventos, ofreciendo espectáculos con causa social. Muchas felicidades por cumplir un año de entrega, lucha, pasión y de tocar corazones con su música.
ALAS, SINGING SCHOOL CELEBRATES ITS FIRST YEAR ALAS, Singing School had a great reason to celebrate, because its first anniversary was last September 14 and they decided to celebrate at the Harbor, across the street from Roo. ALAS, Singing School, was born in September 2012 and it was originated by the necessity of creating a space of expression for children and young people trough singing. It originally started with a corium of young voices, with an assembly of 12 voices that little by little grow until they reached 60 of them, everyone between the ages of 3 and 29. l día 7 de septiembre, se celebró la clausura del Rally “Futura Mamá” organizado por el Hospital Amerimed, en el restaurant Maluck. En dicho evento, participó un gran grupo de mujeres que estaban en etapa de gestación, aunque algunas no concluyeron, ya que su tiempo de gestación terminó y hubo varias afortunadas que dieron a luz en el lapso de la competencia llevado a cabo durante varios días y que concluyó con un desayuno en el ya mencionado restaurante, en el que fueron entregados los premios a los 3 primeros lugares a las ganadoras: en 3er Lugar, Minerva Pérez; 2do Lugar para Diana Joya y en 1er Lugar y ganadora del Rally “Futura Mamá”, Fabiola Meza. dos8 les deseó un feliz embarazo a todas y una calurosa felicitación a los integrantes del equipo Amerimed, que hicieron realidad este rally lleno de muchas sorpresas y diversión. On September 7th, was celebrated the closure of Rally Futura Mamá, organized by the Amerimed Hospital, at Maluck restaurant. In which a group of pregnant women participated, although some of them couldn’t finish because their gestation period was over and some lucky ones gave birth in the period of the competition, which held place for several days and concluded with a breakfast at the restaurant mention before, where the prizes were handed to the first 3 places; in 3rd place, Minerva Pérez, 2nd place Diana Joya and 1st place and winner of the “Futura Mamá Rally”, Fabiola Meza. Dos8 wished them a happy pregnancy to all of them and a warm congratulation to the members of the Amerimed team, who made this rally possible, full of surprises and fun. os integrantes de las diversas asociaciones de charros del municipio de Bahía de Banderas, participaron en la celebración que el Presidente Municipal de Bahía de Banderas, Rafael Cervantes Padilla, organizó para ellos, junto con su esposa y Presidenta del DIF, María del Refugio Gómez de Cervantes. El festejo dio inicio con una misa de acción de gracias y posteriormente con una cena en el Lienzo Charro de San José del Valle. La celebración eucarística estuvo presidida por el responsable de la Iglesia de San José del Valle, Francisco Santos Santiago. El Presidente Municipal agradeció la presencia de los charros y sus familias, y a la vez anunció, el primer partido como local jugado en la Unidad Deportiva de San José del Valle por parte de Los Potros de Bahía de Banderas y el total respaldo de la comuna tanto para los futbolistas como para el más mexicano de los deportes, que es la charrería. Estuvieron presentes, además, el síndico Armando Campos Salgado, el secretario del VIII Ayuntamiento, Juan Francisco O´Connor Aguirre, y Griselda Quintana Carbajal, Víctor Salvatierra Gutiérrez, Juan Torres Pérez, Xavier Esparza García, Ascensión Gil Calleja y María de Jesús Ruiz Pineda, así como don Gabriel Cervantes Antimo, quien fuera Presidente de la Asociación de Charros de San José del Valle, entre otros funcionarios.

CHARRO`S DAY CELEBRATION Members of different Charro association of Bahia de Banderas county, participated in the celebration that the Mayor of Bahia de Banderas, Rafael Cervantes Padilla, organized for them, with his wife and the President of DIF, Maria del Refugio Gomez de Cervantes. The feast started with a thanksgiving mass, then a dinner in the Lienzo Charro of San Josè del Valle. The Eucharistic celebration was led by the responsible of the church of San José del Valle, Francisco Santos Santiago. The Mayor thanked the presence of the Charros and their families and at the same time announced the first local game played at the sports unit San José del Valle, by the Potros de Bahia de Banderas and the total back up of the community for both football players and for the most Mexican sports of all, the Charreria. Last September 19, there was a conference about the Federal Law on the Prevention and Identification of Operations with Illegal Resources (Antimoney laundering law) The conference took place in the facilities of the Hotel Marival Resort, where important representatives from the business sector of Bahia de Banderas, attended. The guests arrived at the event on time, highlighting like this, the importance that local businesses find in these current issues in order to adhere to the guidelines and rules that the authority requires. l pasado 26 de Septiembre, Universidad Vizcaya de las Américas Campus Puerto Vallarta, se vistió de gala al realizar su 1er Certamen Señorita Vizcaya Vallarta 2013, en donde 9 de sus alumnas demostraron no sólo su belleza, sino también su gran compromiso con sus respectivas carreras y su preocupación por las diversas problemáticas de la sociedad. Fueron 9 las alumnas que participaron en el certamen, ellas fueron Grisel Salcedo Aviléz y Frida Kimberly Sahagún Hernández de la carrera de Criminología, Karen Jennifer Guadarrama Madrigal y Yajaira Yazmín de Jesús Santana de la carrera de Psicología, Citlalli Guadalupe Franco Curiel de Arquitectura, Yolanda D. Uzcanga Peña y Miriam Edith Rodríguez López de Contaduría, Iria Cristina Hauffen Madrigal de la Licenciatura en Derecho y Crissol Flores de Ciencias en la Educación. Las chicas lucieron espectaculares durante las diversas pasarelas que se realizaron, apoyadas siempre por sus compañeros y familiares. Aunque el nerviosismo se hizo presente, desapareció al momento de recibir los cálidos aplausos de todos los asistentes. Last September 26, Vizcaya de las Americas campus Puerto Vallarta University, dressed up to perform its first pageant Miss Vizacaya Vallarta 2013, where 9 of its students demonstrated not just their beauty, but also their great commitment with their carriers and their concern to the diverse problems of society. The 9 students who participated were: Grisel Salcedo Avilez and Frida Kimberly Sahagun Hernandez from Criminology, Karen Jennifer Guadarrama Madrigal and Yajaira Yazmin de Jesus Santana from Psycology, Citlali Guadalupe Franco Curiel from Architecture, Yolanda d. Uzcanga Peña and Miriam Edith Rodriguez Lopez from Accounting, Iria Cristina Hauffen Madrigal from Law School and Crissol Flores from Science of Education. The girls looked spectacular during the different catwalks they performed, supported always by their classmates and family. Although they were nervous, that go away the moment they received the warm ovation from all the attendants. At the event diverse personalities attended as judges, such as Roberto Casas from the model agency New Age Models, Ruben Oropeza from F Studio Puerto Vallarta, Oscar Cuevas Santana manager of Roo and Kunibert Lengger, general manager of the Hotel Canto del Sol who had the difficult task of choosing the lucky winner. a noche del domingo 15 de septiembre, el presidente municipal Ramón Guerrero Martínez, salió al balcón principal de la presidencia, para dar el Grito de Independencia ante una plaza de armas abarrotada por cerca de diez mil vallartenses y visitantes, que a la voz de ¡Viva México!, ¡Viva Puerto Vallarta!, recordaron este episodio nacional encabezado hace 203 años por el cura Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, en Dolores Hidalgo. El primer edil estuvo acompañado por la presidenta del DIF Municipal, Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, el comandante de la Cuadragésima Primera Zona Militar, el General de Brigada D.E.M. Raúl David Guillen Altuzar y su esposa; el Vicealmirante Cuerpo General D.E.M., Alberto Castillo Zárate, Comandante de la Octava Zona Naval y su esposa, para honrar a los héroes que dieron patria y libertad a esta nación, y posteriormente ondear la bandera nacional. Momentos después, se apreció el gran espectáculo multicolor de juegos pirotécnicos preparado para esta ocasión. Los asistentes al festejo, disfrutaron de la novedosa tecnología del video ‘mapping’, que proyectó al exterior del edificio de la presidencia municipal escenas conmemorativas a la lucha de independencia, en un espectáculo sin igual. Asimismo, se instalaron muñecos interactivos en la plaza de armas, que causaron una grata sorpresa entre chicos y grandes. Como en toda celebración, no podía faltar la música del mariachi, que llenó con sus alegres notas el malecón de Puerto Vallarta, haciendo de ésta una gran fiesta en la que la tradición y el orgullo mexicano fueron el ingrediente principal.

entro del marco de las fiestas patrias, se llevó a cabo la coronación de Señorita Vallarta 2013, siendo Andrea Citlally Curiel Rodríguez la ganadora del certamen de belleza coordinado por el Ayuntamiento de este destino turístico. El presidente municipal Ramón Guerrero Martínez así como la presidenta del Sistema DIF Puerto Vallarta, Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, acompañaron a Andrea Curiel para su coronación realizada por la reina de las Fiestas de Octubre de Guadalajara Natalia Villasante. A su vez fueron coronadas como primera y segunda princesa respectivamente, Dulce Guadalupe Sánchez y Blanca Esther Meza Rodríguez. Además de las ganadoras, también integraron el grupo de participantes Valeria Magdalena Gutiérrez, Brisa Alondra Peña y Andrea del Rosario González, participando en las tres etapas; la presentación de candidatas y autoridades, patrocinadores, jurado e invitados especiales, como el actor Ferdinando Valencia, Salvador Moreno y Álvaro Íñiguez diseñadores de alta costura, Concepción Hinojosa conductora de Televisa así como el síndico municipal Roberto Ascencio Castillo y el regidor Humberto Gómez.
En las pasarelas, las candidatas portaron vestidos de coctel y de noche, también respondieron a preguntas de historia. Durante el receso para el conteo de la calificación, el público se deleitó con las interpretaciones de Perla Alarcón y La Boquita. Finalmente y tras darse a conocer a Andrea Curiel como Señorita Vallarta 2013, se llevó a cabo el cierre de la noche con la presentación del cantante Mariano Barba quien brindó al público de Puerto Vallarta varios de sus éxitos discográficos.
