SCNCA 2015 CYCLOCROSS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS SCPS 14: Southern California Cyclocross Prestige Series Introduction: SoCalCross to host 2015 SCNCA District CX Championships Sunday, December 6th at Griffith Park – Greek Theatre/Vermont Canyon Park which sits directly below the famed Griffith Park Observatory. The Park is the City of Los Angeles largest and most storied park. Visibility is unmatched in venues across the region making the venue a prime place for championships. Home to SoCalCross Prestige Series since 2010 and 2 years of UCI CXLA this weekend is primed for a hard fought battle tested course. Vermont Ave. Los Angeles CA 90028 SCNCA 2015 CHAMPIONSHIP CATEGORIES: • Elite Women A 1-­‐4 • Elite Women B 3 and 4 (race together scored separate for championships) • Elite Men 1-­‐4 • U23 Men 1-­‐4 (race with Elite Men, scored separate for championships) • Elite Men B 3 and 4 (race together scored separate for championships) • Master Men 35-­‐39, 40-­‐44, 45-­‐49, 50-­‐54, 55-­‐59, 60-­‐64, 65-­‐69, 70+ 1-­‐4 • Master Women 35-­‐44, 45-­‐54, 55+ 1-­‐4 • Single Speed Men A 1-­‐4 • Single Speed Men B 4-­‐5 • Women Single Speed 1-­‐4 • Junior Women – 9-­‐10, 11-­‐12, 13-­‐14, 15 16, 17-­‐18 (CX1-­‐5 – one day license okay) • Junior Men – 9-­‐10, 11-­‐12, 13-­‐14, 15 16, 17-­‐ 18 (CX1-­‐5 – one day license okay) Non-­‐Championship categories offered: Youth 1 lap for Men 35+C (CX4-­‐5) Men C (CX4-­‐5), Women C (CX4) License requirements: An annual USA Cycling license is required for championship categories as per USAC. Renew or apply for 2016 license at USAcycling.org. CX Men license must hold a CX licensed category 1-­‐4 to be eligible to compete in Masters or Elite Men A and B category races. Non-­‐Championship and Youth riders can race with CX5 Men or new riders can compete on a new annual or one Day license $15 purchased online or at race. Awards: The SCNCA will award medals to Top 3 in each championship category. SoCalCross will award cash and prizes to select categories. See p.1 schedule for breakdown. Stage One offers District Champion jerseys available for purchase. Race day registration will be available at venue for all USAC Categories and opens at 7:00AM then 2 hours before each category start and closes 20 minutes prior to each wave start . Questions? SCNCA District Championship Rules and regulations: The race shall be held under the 2015 USAC regulations: notably, safety, course guidelines, and duration of events. Top 20 SoCalCross Prestige Series standings. Riders with a foreign license may not enter. Out of district riders are welcome to compete for the prize list, but not eligible for the medal or option to wear/purchase district championship clothing. Racing Age: A rider's 2015-16 cyclocross racing age is the category to which the license-holder belongs on 1 January of the civil year following will be used for his participation in events for the whole season. A rider's CX racing age is determined by his/her age on December 31, 2016. The age rule applies to all

categories except Youth Age 6-­‐9 racing age is age as of 12/31/2015. Helmets must be worn at all times while riding your bicycle. Mountain Bikes (no bar ends) are allowed though CX bicycles are strongly encouraged. Race Bibs must be worn horizontally on the same side passing timing scoring judges. Confirm with registration in the morning to be sure. Timing: SoCalCross provides chip timing at each race. Timing chips to be worn on your ankle. Please make sure to return your chip to registration at the end of your race. VIP Season Personal Pro Chips are available at registration or with online race registration. First Aid: Medical support will be located at the red medical tent located near registration supported by certified EMT for the duration of the race day from course open to close closure. Emergency Hospital: Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center -­‐ Burbank 501 S Buena Vista St. Burbank, CA 91505 -­‐-­‐ (818) 843-­‐5111 Bike Washing Area: Spray washing will be available within the pit area as needed. There will be an auxiliary wash area near the team VIParking as well can be set up as needed for pre-­‐post race cleanup at the South end of the parking lot. Portable Restroom Facilities will be location in Main Parking Lot near staging as well there is a permanent restroom structure at South end of Vermont Canyon Park. Parking – VIP Team Parking available in race parking lot. Reserve yours online at BikeReg.com. Street parking is available first come first served. No racer parking at Golf Course or Tennis Courts. Respect Park Rules: No bicycles allowed on park trails. Respect the locals. No alcohol allowed in parks. Coyotes are prevalent in the area so keep your pets and young children close by.

SCNCA 2015 CYCLOCROSS DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS SCPS 14: Southern California Cyclocross Prestige Series COURSE Description: The 2.3k course will start on paved parking lot road slightly uphill turning left into park with loose dirt section turn sections then uphill on dirt road into the grass sections of the park including one stairs, one double barrier section and one one sand section.

About the Park:

Griffith Park is a large municipal park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains, in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,310 acres of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America.

Los Angeles, California 90027 Google Map Link: https://goo.gl/maps/L38xJZNVDW12 From Beach Cities and South Bay: Take the San Diego Freeway (405) North to the Santa Monica Freeway (10) East to the Vermont Avenue exit, left on Vermont, which leads into Griffith Park. From Pasadena: Take the Pasadena Freeway (110) South to the Santa Ana Freeway (5) North to the Los Feliz Avenue exit. Turn left onto Los Feliz. Go to Hillhurst, turn right. Go to Vermont, turn right into park. From the San Fernando Valley: Take the Hollywood Freeway (101) South to the Vine Street exit. Go straight under the underpass and you will be going East on Franklin. Turn left on Western and follow it around as it becomes Los Feliz. Turn left on Vermont and follow it into the park. From Orange County/San Diego: Take the Santa Ana Freeway (5) North to the Los Feliz Avenue exit. Turn left onto Los Feliz. Go to Hillhurst, turn right. Go to Vermont, turn right into park.
