GORD AND GERT BLOM SIOUX CENTER, IOWA Gord Blom says he’s blessed to live every day what he learned at Dordt College. “The company I’ve worked with for 21 years lives what they believe by the way they build and promote their products and by the way they run their business and treat their employees,” he says. “They always take the high road.” That’s what they hope Dordt students embrace as they learn too. The Bloms believe that training Christians to live their faith in areas such as manufacturing and sales is crucial. Such a commitment often leads to other ways of serving, too. Gord has been involved with his church’s ministry to Laos, producing study materials, helping provide grain storage and milling capabilities for farmers, and building relationships with Lao Christians. “It gives real purpose to life,” he says. Gert, who worked in Dordt’s Admissions Office for many years, says, “Dordt gave us and our children so much. Our gifts are an expression of thanks to God and to Dordt College.”
