interview with roman xavier snipe

T4RMJ: Meet Roman XaSnipe, a 13-year-old creative powerhouse with a heart full of purpose and passion! Raised in the church, Roman’s faith shines through everything he does from kicking it on the soccer field to creating powerful visual art in the REACH program. He’s also learning to play the viola, blending discipline and soul into each note, and when he’s not making music or art, you'll probably find him deep into an epic anime storyline. With so many talents and a strong spiritual foundation, Roman reminds us that young people are already walking in greatness. Let’s get to know this dynamic junior explorer!

T4RMJ: Roman, you were brought up in church what are some things you’ve learned about God that really stick with you?

RXS: God never leaves you. I also find it fun to get to know more about God.

T4RMJ: Do you have a favorite Bible verse or story that inspires you?

RXS: My favorite story is Noah and the Ark because of the way in which he saved so many animals in the boat.

T4RMJ: How has your faith helped guide you in your everyday life like school, sports, or friendships?

RXS: I've learned self-control and how to make friends through being kind.

T4RMJ: How do you express your faith in your art, music, or even through how you play soccer?

RXS: I usually just pray that we are not injured and that everyone has good sportsmanship.

T4RMJ: What do you love most about soccer?

RXS: My favorite thing about soccer is the teamwork, and it is very humbling because you can’t be selfish and play well.

T4RMJ: Which position do you enjoy playing, and what's the most exciting moment you’ve had on the field?

RXS: I really love playing right or left wing. My most exciting moment was running down the field full speed during a long and exhausting game, and my pass to my teammate led to a goal!

T4RMJ: How do you prepare mentally and physically before a big game?

RXS: First of all, I get plenty of sleep and I love to listen to phonk.

T4RMJ: If you could play in a match with any famous soccer player, who would it be and why?

RXS: I would want to play with Ranaldo because he inspires me to try harder and improve my skills. He also seems like a nice person whom I could learn from.

T4RMJ: What kind of art do you enjoy creating the most, and what inspires your work?

RXS: Sketching is my favorite medium and I just choose pictures I like to recreate.

T4RMJ: How has being part of the REACH visual arts program helped you grow as an artist?

RXS: I have learned about symmetry and that becoming a good artist takes time.

T4RMJ: Have you ever created a piece that connects your faith and your creativity?

RXS: Not yet.

T4RMJ: If your art could be displayed anywhere in the world, where would you want it shown?

RXS: I would want my art on display in a World Cup commercial.

T4RMJ: Why did you choose the viola, and how does playing it make you feel?

RXS: I chose it because of the lower pitch and playing it makes me feel happy.

T4RMJ: What's a song you’re learning that you’re excited about?

RXS: I’m very excited about learning Dragon Slayer.

T4RMJ: How do you stay motivated when learning something new and challenging, like an instrument?

RXS: I enjoy it, and that’s my motivation.

T4RMJ: If you could create your own musical group, what would it be called and what kind of music would you play?

RXS: That’s not an interest of mine, so I never thought about it.

T4RMJ: What’s your favorite anime show or movie, and what do you like about it?

RXS: My favorite anime show is “One Piece”. It has great life lessons, such as cherishing things you love while you have them.

T4RMJ: If you could create your own anime character, what powers or traits would they have?

RXS: My character would be able to slice anything and master any weapon instantly and have pure physical power and strength without special abilities.

T4RMJ: Has anime inspired your artwork or even helped you imagine new creative ideas?

RXS: Yes, it inspired my Luffy sketch which was my first 3-D drawing. I entered it in the REACH audition that got me into the program.

T4RMJ: If you could combine anime, music, and soccer into one cool story— what would the plot be?

IRXS:: It would be another one of my favorites shows that I watch called Blue Lock. It's a real soccer anime with intense music and awesome animations.TRANSFORMATIONAL

T4RMJ: What’s one thing you’d want other kids to know about using their gifts for good?

RXS: I would tell them using their gifts for good would help other people and inspire them to do good.

T4RMJ: What’s one dream or goal you’re excited about this year?

RXS: I’m excited about learning a planche calisthenics exercise. I’m getting better every day and I’m almost there.

T4RMJ: Finish this sentence: “I am creative, called, and confident because…”

RXS: I am Roman, and I don’t worry about what other people say about me.

T4RMJ: Roman is proof that when you mix faith, creativity, and courage, amazing things happen. Whether he’s scoring goals, sketching bold ideas, or learning new chords on the viola, he’s doing it all with heart. He’s not just exploring his gifts he’s using them to inspire others and reflect God’s light in everything he touches. We can’t wait to see how far Roman’s journey will go and we know it’s only just beginning. Keep shining, Roman. You are truly an intrinsic part of God!

MEMORY VERSE

Hello friends, I am Kyle Alleyne and today's memory verse is:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6).

I trust you are learning the memory verses.

This story in the New Testament tells us we can trust God and not think about what is happening as that is leaning on our own understanding of how it will end and most times we think of a terrible end.

We see the disciples didn't have faith, but they trusted Jesus who is The Lord.

Jesus and His disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a fierce storm arose. The disciples were terrified, but Jesus was sleeping. They woke Him up, saying, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?"

Jesus replied, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?" Then He got up, rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm (Mark 4:35-41).

Trust

in God

This story showcases the disciples' initial lack of trust and Jesus' demonstration of God's power. It teaches us to trust in God's presence and power, even in the midst of life's storm

This tells us God is always present as Jesus was present with the disciples, even when it seemed like He was sleeping.

Jesus had the ability to calm the storm because of God's power over nature and our circumstances so we need to trust in God, even when we feel fearful.

This story inspires us to deepen our trust in God, just as Jesus demonstrated, and to have faith that He can calm the storms in our lives.

Trusting God Even When You Can’t See the Whole Path

Hebrews 10:35–36

(NIV)

 ZEKE’S STORY: THE CLOUDY CLIMB

Zeke the Lion was ready for his next adventure. His map led him to the Shimmering Peaks, but when he got there, thick clouds covered the trail. He couldn’t see more than a pawstep ahead! Should he turn back? Sit and wait for the sky to clear? Or… trust God and take one step at a time?

Zeke chose to trust. He remembered what the Word of God says: Hold on to your confidence! Even when things are foggy, God still has a plan. So, step by step, Zeke kept going sometimes scared, but always trusting. And by the time he reached the top, the clouds had cleared, and he saw a beautiful sunrise waiting just for him.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Sometimes, life feels like Zeke’s foggy mountain trail. You might not understand what’s ahead like starting a new school, facing a challenge at home, or waiting for an answer to prayer. But trusting God means moving forward anyway, believing He sees the whole path even when you don’t. Having confidence in God doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect. It means believing His promises are true, even when things are unclear.

 LET’S TALK TO GOD

DEAR GOD,

Thank You for always leading me, even when I can’t see where I’m going. Please give me the courage to trust You and the confidence to take each step by faith. Help me remember that You will always guide me toward something good. Amen.

 JOURNAL THIS

What’s something in your life right now that feels a little uncertain?

What does it mean to trust God with that situation, even if the answer hasn’t come yet?

THE TRUST CHALLENGE: 5 DAYS OF BOLD BELIEF

Each day this week, complete one step in this trust challenge!

CHALLENGE

Write down a promise from God (like Proverbs 3:5–6 or Hebrews 10:35). Read it aloud.

Take one small action in faith (like forgiving someone, praying first, or being brave).

Share your trust story with a friend or family member. Let them know how God helped you.

Spend 5 minutes in quiet time asking God to show you your next step.

Write a short letter to your future self: “Keep trusting God because…”
