LAMPHEL ANNUAL EASTER SPORTS MEET
The Catholic Youth Fellowship (CYF) of Lamphel Parish in Imphal hosted its 5th Annual Easter Sports Meet in the Par ish campus from 08 to 10 April, 2016. The events were: five Soccer teams for Men, Women’s Volley ball team as well as Tug-of-War for both men and women. ALPHA Group for wom en’s volleyball had the following teams: Mary Immaculate Catholic Church-NGV; St. Peter Catholic Church Dimdaijang; St. Paul Catholic Church-Tarung/ Women’s Volleyball Dimdaijang was victorious Neikanlong and Emmanuel Catholic Church, by defeating Don Bosco Lanjing. They wrested Ramgailong-C. the trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 4, 000. OMEGA Group for women’s volleyball In Tug-of-War for men Dimdaijang won had these teams: Langjing; Emmanuel Church, and for women Don Bosco Langjing came out Ramgailong-B; Christ the King, Langol and Em victorious. MAP FOR RUA HOME BOYS
The Aspirants of Rua Home, Jorhat, preparing to join pre-Novitiate at Amguri, Assam, were given courses on various subjects in the months of April – May 2016. From 27 through 28April 2016 they were briefly exposed to Media Awareness Programme (MAP). Fr. Jonas Ker ketta sdb, the resource person, through interactive sessions explained to the future pre-novices the meaning, process, elements and types of human communication. He assisted them to have a rapid glance through the long histo ry of telecommunication: from oral to literate culture, the mechanization of writing – birth of mass media, the audio-visual revolution untill the advent of social media.

EXCELLS IN SPORTS Holy Cross Catholic Youth Movement, Dimapur in Nagaland, organized the 2nd An nual Sports Meet in view of the upcoming Silver Jubilee of Holy Cross Youth Movement at the Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School Dimapur on 18th -19th July 2016. There were 18 teams from six units participating in the competitions from the Dimapur region. Salesian College of Higher Ed ucation team brought laurels to the college as it act/three act plays. Music and singing being in tegral part of peoples’ life in Northeast India, the participants were encouraged to develop their talents in this field to their optimum level.
In the practical sessions the Aspirants tried to impart valuable messages through five songs, one in common and four songs in groups. They staged four skits which were packed with good moral lessons. The four short dramas were: (1) Help And You Will Be Helped, (2) The Cancer of Greed (in a heart transplantation hospital), (3) You Reap What You Sow and (4) The Sac rifice of Sr. Rani Maria. The participants were amused to watch themselves on the TV screen heartily singing and acting. Moreover, this helped the young performers to see where they could improve themselves.

- The Ruanians, Rua Home, Jorhat bagged the first and the second positions in the volleyball and basketball matches respectively. Fr. Gyan Sandeep Kujur, Vice-Principal of Sale sian College, was the champion of men`s single badminton. Br. Rajendra and Br. Zhopa Charles Khamo of Salesian College were declared as the best players in the volleyball and basketball matches, respectively. “Winning and losing is part of any game but participation itself is a success” said Shri. Arthur Edwards, founder of Livingstone Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur. At the concluding ceremony, Shri. Ru dolf Athihe, Rtd. Senior Manager of Vijaya Bank, Dimapur, as the guest of honour exhorted all the participants to give importance to oth er extra-curricular activities apart from studies so as to grow in all the areas of life. He further encouraged all to focus on the activity close at hand with full attention and not leave anything done half-heartedly.
