Geometry - Honors (4) S 1 Credit - NCWISE # 20305C PREREQUISITE: Algebra I Geometry continues the study of geometric concepts building upon middle school topics. Students explore more complex geometric situations and deepen their explanations of geometric relationships, moving towards formal mathematical arguments. Two- and three-dimensional reasoning skills are emphasized as students broaden their use of the coordinate plane to include transformations of geometric figures. Mathematical Practice Standards apply throughout each course and, together with the content standards, prescribe that students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that makes use of their ability to make sense of problem situations.
