WELCOME to the 10th edition of HUMAN International Documentary Film Festival! We are very excited to present this year’s program. A lot has happened since last year: Human Rights Human Wrongs has become HUMAN IDFF! In addition to a new name, we have used our 10th Anniversary as an opportunity to expand the festival to include two brand new competition programs. For the first time, we have invited Norwegian directors to compete for The HUMAN Documentary Film Award and a prize of 50 000 NOK given by our loyal supporters the Bergesen and the Ship-Ring Foundations. Still, we have kept the dedicated focus on human rights issues. Nine international documentaries compete for The HUMAN Rights Human Wrongs Film Award and 30 000 NOK given by two of the festival’s long-standing collaborators, Amnesty International Norway and The Norwegian Helsinki Committee. The program as a whole has also been expanded, and this year it includes:

· 35 brand new documentaries · 71 screenings · 100 events!

The program is divided into two parts: FILM and LIVE. The filmprogram presents all the films you can watch during the festival, while HUMAN LIVE are all events that are not films: Debates, talks, exhibitions, shows and more. This year’s program spans from political extremism in Europe to landgrabbing in Ethiopia and Liberia, from the struggle for democracy and freedom of speech to one of the innovators of modern theatre, from indigenous rights in Norway, Brazil and Guatemala to demining in Iraq, and much more. In other words, there’s something for everyone! Let yourself be moved, challenged, and get inspired!
