PAC’s 2016 Annual Beef Summits With record attendance last year and so many topics to cover we have decided to offer TWO summit meetings this year. The first meeting will be held in Kearney, Nebraska on May 11th, 2016, at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. The theme of the meeting is “Sharpening your Stockmanship and Team Skills.” Registration will begin at 7:30am, with the first speaker at 8:30am. The morning will cover topics such as “Implementing Changes” with Dr. Larry Firkins, “Load Management Research” with Dr. Dan Thomson and our keynote speaker will be Dr. Sam Barringer. For the afternoon will move to the arena where Dr. Tom Noffsinger, Ted Howard and Curt Pate will demonstrate and discuss stockmanship skills, starting with the basics in the early afternoon and then advanced stockmanship skills later that afternoon.
The second meeting will be held in Oberlin, Kansas on July 13th, 2016, at the Gateway Civic Center. The theme for the second meeting is “Healthy Start for Healthy Cattle.” Again, registration will begin at 7:30am and the program will start at 8:30am. Topics discussed will include the anatomy and mechanics of the foot along with lameness prevention with Dr. Jeff DeFrain and Dr. Dorte Dopfer. Dr. Mike Apley will give a VFD update and Garrett Taylor and Lisa Taylor will discuss visualizing and monitoring health data. Dr. Nels Lindberg will present leadership skills and how best to apply them in your personal and professional lives. We are excited about the meetings and look forward to seeing you there!
