Dress Code Policy Redeemer Classical School is committed to the use of uniforms for its student. The basic purpose of school uniforms is to promote good, honest learning without distractions. Uniforms support the primacy of excellence in academics without compromising beauty. Our Uniform Policy is founded on a desire to cultivate a professional culture that is neat, orderly, and honors God in our attire. Our uniform policy is based on the following principles: Honor God in all we do, acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our choices. Places an emphasis on learning, not clothing Allows for cohesive presentation as a group Create a more work-like atmosphere Reduce peer pressure and social stigmas Promote a positive image of the school Ensure students are safely dressed for activities Facilitate security by identifying outsiders Communicates cohesiveness between students and that they are part of the same team, striving for excellence in all they do. GENERAL GUIDELINES Uniforms must be purchased through the required uniform company **more information about exact uniform purchasing will be coming soon In order to maintain true uniformity, “look-alike” uniforms must not be purchased from other vendors. Uniforms must be in good condition Clothing must be clean and without holes, tears, fraying, or excessive fading. Shoes must be in clean and good repair at all times. Uniforms should be properly sized Clothing must not be baggy or excessively form fitting. Uniforms should not include anything more than what is required
Uniforms must be worn during school hours, including school-sanctioned field trips, unless administration announces otherwise. Dress code policy will be enforced by teachers and administration. When a student breaches a uniform guideline, it may result in a parent call asking that a change of clothing be brought to the school.
Gentlemen Hair must be kept in a traditional boys haircut, above collar and neatly groomed No coloring or unnatural look of hair permitted. No distinctive lines or different lengths of hair No chains, earrings, body piercing jewelry or visible tattoos No hats or hoods in the building Watches are the only visible jewelry allowed for boys; they can not make noise, have smart technology, or be cumbersome to wear If watches becomes a distraction the teacher has the discretion to request it be removed All Shirts must be tucked in while on school property. The only exception will be spirit wear days. Belts must be worn
Ladies Hair must be natural colors and feminine. Hair accessories must be fitting to the style of the uniform. Hairstyles and accessories may have modest coloring or design but must not be distracting to the school or classroom environment. Primary students: no makeup or artificial nails Nail polish is allowed as long as the colors are classy and fitting to the uniform Earrings are allowed but must be not distracting and fitting to the uniform; no body piercing jewelry Watches can not make noise, have smart technology or be cumbersome to wear If hair accessories or jewelry become a distraction, the teacher has the discretion to request they be removed All Shirts must be tucked in while on school property. The only exception will be spirit wear days.
If in doubt about any item, please feel free to bring it by the school office for approval.
Redeemer Girl’s Uniforms K-4th Tops
A white long or short sleeve Peter Pan Blouse must be worn under the jumper.
Jumper
RCS plaid jumper must be worn everyday.
Bottoms
Girls must wear gray or black modesty shorts under their jumper. Black tights or white anklet socks must be worn under footwear. Black mary jane style shoes must be worn.
Options
Gray V-neck cardigan may be worn inside the classroom at any time, over a complete, everyday uniform. Hairstyles and accessories may have modest coloring or design but must not be distracting to the school or classroom environment. RCS plaid accessories (optional) : Scrunchie Headband Hair bow
Redeemer Ladies Uniforms 5th-8th Tops
A Long or short sleeve white button-down Oxford must be worn under the sweater vest. A Maroon V-neck sweater vest with RCS crest is to be worn everyday.
Bottoms
Hip stitch plaid skirt must be worn everyday. Girls must wear gray or black bike shorts under skirt. Black knee high socks must be worn under footwear. Black closed toe , closed heel, shoes must be worn. If lace-up, black laces only.
Options
A gray V-neck cardigan sweater may be worn inside the classroom at any time, over a complete, everyday uniform. Redeemer Boy’s Uniforms K-4th Tops
A long or short sleeve white polo must be worn everyday.
Bottoms
Boys must wear gray shorts or pants everyday. Black leather belt must be worn with pants everyday. Black dress socks must be worn under footwear. Black loafer or oxford shoe must be worn.
Options
A Maroon button-up V-neck cardigan sweater, sweater vest or fleece with RCS crest embroidered may be worn inside the classroom at any time, over a complete, everyday uniform.
Redeemer Gentlemen’s Uniforms 5th-8th
Tops
A white long or short sleeve button down Oxford must be worn under the sweater vest. A maroon V-neck sweater vest with RCS crest embroidered must be worn everyday over the Oxford. A plaid tie must be worn everyday.
Bottoms
Boys must wear gray shorts or pants everyday. Black leather belt must be worn with pants everyday. Black dress socks must be worn under footwear. Black loafer or oxford shoe must be worn. No sneakers.
Options
Maroon button-up V-neck cardigan sweater or fleece with RCS crest embroidered may be worn inside the classroom at any time, over a complete, everyday uniform.
Spirit Wear Occasionally we enjoy showing off our Redeemer school spirit with a “spirit wear” day. On these days students are encouraged to wear their favorite school attire. Administration will notify parents when these days will be happening.
