Thus, students are trained to understand the cause and effect systems in the world. It is important to be a keen observer and take the time to learn about recent history in the relevant area. We teach students to anticipate the obstacles that may occur and implement mechanisms to overcome them: to think and plan ahead. Deakin graduates are aware that success is rarely a one person activity. We all need to work with others. Some individuals may have different objectives or approaches. You need to be able to sway them to your perspective. This can be evident when you are speaking to a client; negotiating with another lawyer, making submissions to a judge; convincing a bank to back your project or trying to convince people to vote for you.
