With social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter generating more traffic per day than search engine giants like Google, educators can no longer ignore the potential of such tools within a classroom environment. This webinar will talk about different tools both mainstream and education-based that instructors can use to create their very own learning communities, whether it is for professional development or a classroom meeting place.

This webinar will give you tools to start creating content using the “cloud”. Look at the process of a collaborative group and how they worked together gathering data, analyzing data, forming conclusions, and creating a multimedia presentation. Gain ideas and insight on how you could use the “cloud” in your district.

Facilitators: Derek LaLonde, Chris Shaffer, John-Henry Lane As of Spring 2011, Blackboard was adopted as the new 793 Standard platform for online course building and delivery. The Model Schools team has been diligently designing the environment and developing training techniques to familiarize teachers with Blackboard and how it can assist them in building and delivering their classes in an online environment. This four-part webinar series is structured to give teachers the working knowledge to utilize the platform and inspire their districts to deliver their courses in the Blackboard environment. During this four-part webinar series, participants will learn how to create content, assess student comprehension, manage their course, and participate in a system wide-community.
