The Oven Affairs by Elma Dsouza
Born in South India, Elma Dsouza studied dentistry, moved to Dubai after marriage, before eventually settling in Dammam. Back in Dubai, she discovered her love for baking, and her trials began, eventually escalating to decorating. The dental market was crashing then, and Elma was having difficulty finding a job. A friend saw her work, and asked her to bake a birthday cake. Although she was only a beginner, she received good feedback, and that was the beginning of her journey. Later on, she took 3 workshops in Dubai, to better improve her talent and skills. Elma’s aspirations don’t just stop here: baking wedding cakes and having her own commercial space, are her ultimate dreams.
Participating in the prestigious Cake Oscars award in Birmingham is another goal of hers, explaining that it’s not only about winning, but about trying to make it into the best kind of platform.
