AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS

One of the most talked-about names at this year’s SXSW, Amyl and the Sniffers are hellbent on creating chaos everywhere they tread, all led by the effervescent Amy Taylor. With their self-titled debut album landing just in time for festival season, they’ll have plenty of grubby punk anthems to showcase.

BE THERE: AMYL AND THE SNIFFERS play Motel Mozaique (18th - 20th April), Primavera Sound (29th May - 2nd June), NOS Primavera Sound (6th 8th June), Maifeld Derby (14th - 16th June) and Rock Werchter (27th - 30th June).

Out BAKAR

As a recent London headline show at The Dome showed, Bakar is currently making a name for himself around sweaty, fantastically messy live shows. The Londoner’s genre-bending mix of mid-‘00s indie and rap is an intoxicating cocktail, and one that’s bringing fans of opposing genres together in adoration. Playing Reading & Leeds and more, this is when he steps up.

BE THERE:

BAKAR plays Coachella (12th - 14th and 19th - 21st April), All Points East (25th May) and Reading & Leeds (23rd - 25th August).

FONTAINES DC

These Irish boys can’t move for being labelled as the most exciting band around at the moment. Sold out UK tours, support bills with IDLES and topping everyone’s buzz-list from Austin’s SXSW, it’s for good reason. And their debut album is only just out! Once ‘Dogrel’ settles in - a barrage of punk poetry and rousing, rattling instrumentation - they’ll be on their way to becoming festival headliners. Catch them in tiny tents while you can - they’re playing a lot of ‘em this summer!

BE THERE:

FONTAINES DC play Motel Mozaique (18th - 20th April), Immergut (30th May - 1st June), Loose Ends (23rd June), Dour (10th - 14th July), Citadel (14th July), Y Not (25th - 28th July), Truck (26th - 28th July), Deer Shed (26th 28th July), All Together Now (2nd - 4th August), Haldern Pop (8th - 10th August), Ypsigrock (8th - 11th August) and End Of The Road (29th August - 1st September).

As summer approaches, a host of bands inducted into our Class Of 2019 at the end of last year are being let loose on festival season, tinny in hand. Your new fave is just around the corner, here’s where they’ll be.

Easy Life

We’ll be honest here: we can’t even slightly count on sunny weather at this summer’s festivals, especially in the UK, but if the sun does peek out at any point, Easy Life are gonna be the band you’ll want to catch. Fresh from releasing new mixtape ‘Spaceships’, they’re perfect for that fuzzy early evening before things take a turn for the worse.

BE THERE:

EASY LIFE play Coachella (12th - 14th and 19th - 21st April), Live At Leeds (4th May), Hit The North (5th May), The Great Escape (9th - 11th May), Hangout (16th - 19th May), Boston Calling (24th - 26th May), Governors Ball (31st May - 2nd June), Parklife (8th - 10th June), Barn On The Farm (4th - 7th July), Tramlines (19th - 21st July), Y Not (25th 28th July), Kendal Calling (25th - 28th July), Truck (26th - 28th July), 110 Above (2nd - 4th August) and Boardmasters (7th - 11st August).
