Hello from your LTG!

Happy June, Ninjas! It’s been 2 months since the term has started and it feels like it flew by too fast since we’ve been staying inside for awhile. I hope you all are staying safe. Summer is about to start soon and I hope we will all be able to unite as a division in person soon. I miss all of you even if I haven’t gotten the chance to meet you yet. I can’t wait to start attending service events again, online service projects just aren’t the same. Don’t forget, you can reach out to me anytime if you need help or just wanna talk! Hope to see you soon!

SPOTLIGHT ON SERVICE

Written by Sarrah Zanzi We wanted to still do something for the community even though we can't go out and participate in community service events at the time. So, we are planning on hosting a live webinar called "How Teenagers Can Navigate Mental Wellness During This Crisis" on May 6th around noon. We contacted 2 experts in the field to talk about the pandemic, how it has affected us, how to cope with mental health issues during this time, positives we can focus on, managing stress, etc. Each speaker will speak for about 20 minutes with a Q&A at the end. We are currently working on flyers and other preparations before we host the webinar and our school counselors will get the word out to Whitney families through a mass email and perhaps some other schools in the Rocklin Unified School District.

SERVICE IN QUARANTINE Stay at home.

Make masks!

Go out only if you must (food, medicines, essentials)!

Sew/make make-shift masks for workers who have to go out on the daily.

Keep up with friends!

Get together online! Host meditation, reading, art, etc. zoom sessions with your friends and family!

Send texts of encouragement/FaceT ime friends and check up on them! Maybe even do an activity together, like drawing or working out!

Email teachers and medical staff Practice social distancing. If you need to go out, maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance from others.

Show how much you appreciate them for their work; trying to teach at the best of their ability during this time/fighting and working hard on the front lines of combating coronavirus.
