Music for Life Helping to Find Cure In March 2008 local Luddenham resident Ann Willmington was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour and was given 18 months to live. Thanks to surgeon Dr Charlie Teo, Ann was given a second chance at life with the Brain Tumour being removed. Ann has had 3 lots of surgery and has undergone chemotherapy & radiation therapy to become one of the lucky ones to overcome the odds and beat this horrible disease. Now Ann is fighting to find a Cure for Brain Tumours by holding an Annual Function to raise much needed funds for the Dr Charlie Teo’s Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. Tickets for the fourth Music for Life Annual Ball to be held on Friday the 13th June at the Penrith Panthers Pavilion are selling fast. Music for Life raises money for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation which was set up by Dr Charlie Teo to Accelerate a Cure for Brain Cancer. Over the Past 3 years Music for Life has raised over $154,000.00 for the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. The 2014 Music for Life Ball is a Masquerade Ball and is shaping up to be another great success with Sylvia Jeffreys from Nine News being announced as the Master of Ceremonies for the night and special guest speaker Dr Charlie Teo, who will give an update on research. The night is all about the music with the fabulous “Enormous Horns� with the amazing “DJ Sax� that will have you jumping out of your seat onto the Dance floor. So You Think You can Dance Grand Finalist Jay & Renelle will perform this year’s Dedication Dance. As well as lots of Great Auctions and Fund Raising to help this Great Cause, while having a great night. Police Officer of the Year St Marys & Wallacia Rotary Clubs handed over a cheque for $9000 to St Marys LAC to pass onto Police Legacy. This was carried out at the partners night which was held at Twin Creeks Golf Club, St Marys. The guest speaker on the night was Olympian Sarah Ryan. The funds donated, were proceeds from the recent St Marys LAC – Police Officer of the Year 2014 Awards Night Dinner. St Marys & Wallacia Rotary Clubs wish to thank all of their sponsors who gave generously to ensure a great evening; and allowing them the opportunity to pass the funds raised on to a worthy cause.
