Business Math Grade Level: 11-12 Length: Year Prerequisite: None Course Numbers: 1st semester - MA3001CT 2nd semester - MA3002CT This course helps students acquire skills appropriate to business operations. Topics include routine applications, banking accounts, payroll, depreciation, pricing and investment and basic statistics. Students apply skills and concepts learned to daily life in the business world. Since AP courses are considered college level courses, students and parents will sign a contract similar to the concurrent enrollment contract, prior to registering for any AP course. AP Calculus A/B Grade Level: 11-12 Length: Year Prerequisite: None Course Numbers: 1st semester - MA4941 2nd semester - MA4942 HEAR/NCAA AP Calculus AB provides students with an intuitive understanding of the concepts of calculus and experience with its methods and applications. Theses courses introduce calculus and include the following topics: elementary functions; properties of functions and their graphs; limits and continuity; differential calculus (including definition of the derivative, derivative formulas, theorems about derivatives, geometric applications, optimization problems, and rate-of-change problems); and integral calculus (including anti-derivatives and the definite integral). TI-83/84 graphing calculator is highly recommended for this course. Students should expect to spend 2-3 hours per week on work outside of this class. AP Calculus B/C Grade Level: 11-12 Length: Year Prerequisite: B or better in AP Calculus A/B Course Numbers: 1st semester - MA4951 2nd semester - MA4952 AP Calculus BC builds upon algebraic and geometric principles covered in Pre-Calculus and AP Calculus AB. This course covers all of the topics in AP Calculus A with further investigation into vectors Parametric and Polar equations, infinite series, and differential equations. At the conclusion of this course students will be prepared for and expected to take the AP Calculus BC exam for potential college credit. TI-83/84 graphing calculator is highly recommended for this course. Students should expect to spend 2-3 hours per week on work outside of this class.
