The songs for Fuego took shape during a series of visits to Phish’s longtime creative hub, The Barn, a rustic, reconstructed barn-turnedrehearsal/recording studio located outside Burlington, Vermont. There they explored dozens of ideas, which led to a notable shift in the band’s songwriting approach. While Fuego includes tracks that individual members brought to the table in usual Phish fashion, the bulk of the material was written by all four, working together at The Barn.

NOW ON SALE THRU AUG 31! Distribution13 is proud to welcome MCG Jazz to its roster of exclusively distributed labels. Created in 1968, the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild (MCG) began as an inner city vocational program which eventually evolved into the National Center for Arts and Technology with educational centers throughout the world. The foundation of this effort has always been jazz, and starting in 1987 with a concert from Dr. Billy Taylor, MCG Jazz began a series of live performances in their still state-of-the-art concert hall. They’ve now held over 1,700 of these, many of which have been recorded. These eventually evolved into a full blown record label which remarkably received a Grammy Award® on just its second release (Count Basie Live at MCG) and has gone on to win four more, including two for separate recordings by jazz vocal legend Nancy Wilson. After a brief hiatus, while they concentrated on live performances, the label is back with four new releases this calendar year, all with their finger on the pulse of the current jazz idiom, and plans for several archival recordings for 2015.
