Norfolk businesses bridge the gap. On a recent Thursday morning, at The Space, Norwich over 140 of the Norfolk business community joined us for a breakfast all about getting the most out of apprenticeships and the benefits they have to businesses, young people and the community. On arrival there was an exhibition full of training providers and knowledgeable businesses to provide delegates with the advice they need to get apprentices into their business, while networking.

on all the different aspects available around apprenticeships and the funding available. Next up on stage was Andrew Sherwood, Bernard Matthews and Mark Farrar, Reepham High School & College who talked about their successful joint working with students to give them a tangible experience of business and bridge the gap between the classroom and commerce.

The morning was hosted by Matthew Hudson, ITV Anglia Presenter who introduced Richard Nutt from National Apprenticeship Services. He started us off with a very informative speech

Delegates then heard directly from both apprentices and employers from Alan Boswell Group and UCP Zeller who shared their experiences. This interview panel sparked yet another lively discussion on what businesses and education providers need to do to support young people to undertake apprenticeships. n For more information about this event and apprenticeships visit: www.norfolkchamber.co.uk
