Trafford Apprenticeship Scheme Invests in the Skills of Tomorrow
MEMBERSNEWS
Trafford College and Trafford Council, along with key partners, have launched a unique Apprenticeship programme as part of a £32 million regeneration strategy for Trafford. Fourteen new Apprenticeships have been developed with scope for many more and will combine theoretical study with practical work experience in a range of roles including Project Management, Gas, Plumbing and Electrical. Some of the new recruits will even have the opportunity to work on the College’s new Science and Technology centre in Stretford, which is due to open September 2013. Sir Bill Moorcroft, Principal of Trafford College, commented, “Trafford College is delighted to be involved in what is an incredibly exciting project, bringing employment opportunities to the borough and providing businesses with new talent and skills. We need to invest in the professionals of tomorrow and ensure that they are meeting the future skills needs of the industry.” Visit www.trafford.ac.uk or call 0161 886 7070 for more information.

Celebrating Women into Enterprise
The programme offers the opportunity to develop new skills and contacts through business mentoring, skill sharing and community projects. This input will deliver real change in communities and for businesses which rely on reputation the return can be invaluable.
On Tuesday 20 November, Trafford College hosted the ‘Women into Enterprise’ event in partnership with Enterprise Lab, a unique event for aspiring entrepreneurs to discover more about the array of support networks and expertise available, as well as being inspired by other women in business.
In 2013 we are looking for local businesses to get involved and reap the benefits. If you would like to learn more please contact our Business Engagement Officer Aine Graven, on 07834 517 395 or via email aine.graven@ traffordhousingtrust.co.uk.
