Hair By Kassady

For twenty one year old Kassady Vandagriff, it seemed the odds were stacked against her from the very beginning, but as Kassady would say, it is all about perspective and choosing to persevere through all the challenges thrown her way. Starting a business at the age of nineteen is daunting enough but add in the unexpected challenges of Covid and the worldwide shutdown, and it’s enough to make the most seasoned business owner throw in the towel.
Kassady’s love of hair came from growing up watching her biggest inspiration, her “Gran” (Grandma Reba Howard) do hair at her in home hair salon. Reba ran a hair salon out of her Pilot Point home for around thirty-five years before retiring, so when it came to Kassady choosing a profession, she knew she wanted to follow in her grandma’s footsteps When speaking about her grandma, her entire face lights up with pure joy, “She is my rock, my best friend and biggest inspiration ”
Graduating high school in March of 2020 during the height of the COVID pandemic, she was not sure how she was going to be able to navigate Cosmetology school Luckily, the school did not shut down and she was able to start in August of 2020 and graduate in August of 2021 and began her career in December of 2021
“I never thought I would be where I am at twenty one years old If you would have told me two years ago that I would be here today,I would have looked at you and told you that you were crazy. I am so blessed and honored to have exceeded all my expectations and so much more.”

Kassady credits her drive, determination and success to her close knit family consisting of her parents Trent and Robyn Vandagriff, siblings Kelsee and Kooper, her Pop and Gran Robert and Reba Howard and her boyfriend Kyler Patton. When she talks about each of these people, you can just feel the amount of love she has for them. “If it were not for my family, I would not be where I am today.”
For Kassady, her business is built on and all about relationships. For her, it does not feel like a job but instead feels like she is hanging out with friends everyday because her clients become her friends.
