Il battello vi traghetterà fino a Gandria, per visitare il paese e pranzare in un tipico grotto ticinese. Il rientro a Lugano sarà possibile con il battello oppure attraverso la piacevole passeggiata ai piedi del famoso sentiero dell’Olivo. Ritornando verso la città a piedi potrete fermarvi per un tuffo presso il Lido San Domenico.

The boat will take you to Gandria to visit the small village and have lunch in a typical Ticinese grotto. You can choose to return to Lugano with the boat or through the famous Olive Trail, a pleasant walk by the lake. On your walk back to town, you can stop for a swim and bask in the sun at Lido San Domenico. D

Sie fahren mit dem Schiff bis Gandria. Nach dessen Besichtigung können Sie in einem der vielen, typischen Tessiner Grottos zu Mittag essen. Für den Rückweg nach Lugano können Sie das Schiff nehmen oder zu Fuss auf dem berühmten Olivenweg zurückspazieren. Auf diesem Fussweg kommen Sie beim Lido San Domenico vorbei, welches zu einer kleinen Badepause einlädt.
Un bateau vous emmènera jusqu’à Gandria, pour visiter le village et déjeuner dans un typique grotto du Tessin. Pour retourner à Lugano, vous pourrez reprendre le bateau ou emprunter le sentier de l’Olivier pour une agréable promenade à pied. THE OLIVE GROVE TRAIL The trail winds its way through the countryside between Castagnola and Gandria, an area boasting amazing biodiversity. The walk takes you through an area dotted with ancient olive trees where several olive groves have recently been planted.

Wenige Schritte vor Italien zeigt das Zollmuseum Vergangenheit und Gegenwart der Verwaltung und Überwachung der Grenzen auf (Kampf gegen illegalen Handel und Fälschung, Artenschutz und vieles mehr) und erzählt Geschichten über dieses Gebiet, dessen Identität seit jeher durch die Grenze geprägt ist.

It was created to promote local products and quality of life in the village; today it is no longer a simple shop but a multi-purpose space with a bar, an information tourist point and location for cultural events all year along.
Nasce per promuovere prodotti del territorio e qualità di vita nel villaggio; oggi è uno spazio polivalente con bar, negozio, centro d’informazione turistica e sede di diversi eventi culturali durante l’anno.

Sie wurde eröffnet um lokale Produkte anbieten zu können und die Lebensqualität im Dorf zu verbessern. Heute ist die Bottega di Gandria ein Mehrzweckraum mit einer Bar, einem touristischen Informationspunkt und sie ist auch Standort vieler kultureller Veranstaltungen.
Elle a été créée pour promouvoir les produits locaux et la qualité de vie dans le village. Aujourd’hui, n’est plus un simple magasin mais un espace polyvalent avec un bar, point d’information touristique et lieu de nombreux événements culturels pendant toute l’année.

The first lasting human traces on the immediate area around Gandria come from an ironage people known as the Celts (as of 800 B.C.). Present-day Gandria, however, was not yet inhabited. “Gandrio” is first mentioned in archives from the bishop of Como in 1237. At the time, the village was located halfway up Monte Brè – ruins are still visible today along the trail to the Sasso della Predescia. In the 1300s, a new settlement was established along the lake in the present-day site. Eventually the upper part of the village was abandoned, perhaps due to fire, perhaps due to the advantages of living near the lake.
I primi segni di presenza umana ritrovati nei dintorni di Gandria risalgono all’età del ferro e ai Celti (attorno all’800 a.C.). A quei tempi però il sito di Gandria non era ancora abitato. “Gandrio” è menzionato per la prima volta nel 1237 in un atto notarile del vescovo di Como. Allora il villaggio era situato a mezza costa sul Monte Brè e le sue rovine sono ancora visibili lungo il sentiero che porta al Sasso della Predescia. Il nuovo insediamento sulla riva del lago è sorto attorno al 1300. Il villaggio alto venne abbandonato, forse a causa di un incendio o per approfittare dei vantaggi che offriva il vivere sulla riva del lago.

Die ersten Anzeichen menschlicher Anwesenheit in der unmittelbaren Umgebung von Gandria führen auf die Eisenzeit und die Kelten (ab 800 v.Chr.) zurück. Das heutige Gandria existierte hingegen noch nicht. “Gandrio” wurde erstmals in einer notariellen Urkunde des Bischofs von Como 1237 erwähnt. Zu der Zeit war das Dorf auf halbem Weg zum Monte Brè gelegen. Ruinen sind heute noch auf dem Pfad zum Sasso della Predescia sichtbar. Erst um 1300 gab es eine neue Siedlung direkt am See, dem heutigen Standort. Vielleicht wurde der obere Teil des Dorfes wegen eines Feuers verlassen – es könnte aber auch die bessere Lage nah am Wasser gewesen sein.
