LOCAL BANDS Dean & Co.

Local Folk Singers and Players Keep
Their Arts Alive. Pubs are the places where people go to sing a few folk songs, play a few tunes and to listen to both. However, music in pubs – even of this unamplified sort – is against the law, so many music sessions have not operated since February 2020.
Some of the organisers have now begun sessions using the internet, which most people have these days. Dean Hardy, from Morton, used to run monthly singing and playing sessions in Bourne and in Haconby now runs one monthly on the first Friday of every month. This features people singing and playing tunes, and others, also sitting in their own houses, listening and tapping along.
Pete Shaw, a music teacher on the internet, also runs two music-only virtual sessions, one monthly on third Mondays, and a new, slower speed one for more beginner musicians every other Tuesday. 7th - Singaround - 8pm - details and an invite Dean Hardy 01778 570115. 17th -Traditional tune session – 7.30pm - details and an invite Pete Shaw 01778 571563.
