Effective ways by which we can transition through change

is bringing about more and more change each week. Through updates and re-openings after such a long time being confined to our homes and following rules, as things begin to ease, it only seems somewhat normal to have anxiety surrounding this change.
From various discussions I have had with clients and friends, we have all adapted in different ways to manage the environment around us. Some have found this comforting, a time to reflect and slow down. Others have found it difficult to adapt and manage everything that is going on around them. Whichever side you’re sitting, there is no right or wrong answer. What is right is doing what is best for you. I took on a practical approach whereby I sat and wrote a list of everything that I could control, thus taking ownership of where I am right now and knowing I am safe and well with my family. This became my mental bubble. If I sat and started to over-think the situation, I knew that I would end up at the worst case scenario because that is
how my brain works and I really didn’t want to be stuck with that. “Procrastination Station” isn’t a great place for anyone! So, as we ease back into our new way of living, give yourself the opportunity to focus on all those things that you are in control of. Giving your brain the correct information and making a proper assessment of it will then keep you in a more positive mindset and more open to change and transition during this time.

working. Visualise how you want things to be, rather than how you don’t want them to be. That is so very helpful in work and going out and about.
It can be very easy to be pulled into ‘other people stuff’ and opinions at this time. There may be fear of judgement from others and the anxiety of what others may think. We are all individual for a reason; we are not all going to agree with each other. So, choose for yourself and what is best for you.
