Sessions Visits Chamber Senator Jeff Sessions paid a special visit to the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce in August, meeting with several community leaders to discuss various federal issues that impact the business community. This meeting, as well as all of the Chamber’s ongoing public policy efforts, are initiatives of the Cornerstone Partnership.

Humana Market Point Insurance hosted a Coffee & Cards event during August 2010. Humana representatives welcomed Chamber members and guests for breakfast and networking at Java Jaay in Decatur. Humana Market Point has invested in the Chamber since 2006 and we appreciate their continued support.

Partners in Education The Partners In Education program kicked off the 2010 school year by matching area schools with local business partners during a breakfast at Priceville Elementary School in September. Morgan County Superintendent Bob Balch welcomed more than 100 guests and Scott Mayo, headmaster of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, spoke about the new “Principal for a Day” initiative. Remarks were also made by Priceville Elementary Principal Anne Knowlton, Leah Amos of Junior Achievement of North Alabama, Morgan County Career Coaches and Wade Weaver, DMCCC Chairman of the Board.
