Oman Celebrates 49th National Day

The Sultanate of Oman and Republic of India have taken well-established relations to the next level, a connection that had existed for centuries behind and a link that will exist for years to come. Post the visit of Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Mr. Narendra Modi to Oman, which is an ear-marked visit in the recent times, has enhanced the handholding of Omani – Indian people, thereby highlighting the reciprocal relations between the two countries.

The visit of the Indian Prime Minister to the Sultanate of Oman and subsequent meeting of the Hon’ble Prime Minister with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, has given a fresh impetus for further strengthening the already existing bilateral motives of both the countries especially in the field of culture, defence, education, health, infrastructure, food security, fisheries and cyber security etc. Oman is the first country in GCC to institute a robust defence and security cooperation mechanism with India. Both sides have seen multiple visits of the Ministers. MOU on military cooperation was signed during the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India’s visit to Oman.

India are collaborating in the proposed field of cyber security, space technology, food security, tourism, academic and scholarly cooperation. Oman has successfully maintained its identity, unique culture, traditions and heritage. The hard work and determination of Omani people was led by the clear vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
Under the able guidance of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said there have been new milestones, and Oman being a progressive society as on date, where Omani women have been guaranteed equal opportunities. With this 49th National day edition, I, as the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in New Delhi, India, would like to invite and welcome the readers of Oman in Focus, the in-house magazine to visit Oman and get the first hand experience. Next year 18th November 2020, Oman will celebrate its 50th National day, which is the Golden Jubilee. May God bless our country and His Majesty Long and Healthy Life.
