Living New Hope This year’s Diocesan Convention marked the start of our seventh year of New Hope. In NEPA we have fed the hungry, clothed the naked, sheltered the homeless, helped alleviate the crises from natural disasters and more. Thus far, we have allocated and spent $420,000 on NEPA. We have a quarter of a million dollars in the DIT account for NEPA New Hope account. Our goal is to fund the account to $480,000. Future NEPA grants will be funded from the income of the trust. In Kajo Keji, we have built five primary schools, one secondary school, and a seminary-teaching college. In part due to a generous gift from Pril Hurd, the trusts for the schools and college are fully funded. All future expenses for the New Hope School System are to be paid from the income from those trusts. Due to your generosity over 2,000 young souls are schooled annually and 100

priests have a proper seminary education. The Holy Spirit works in unusual ways, many say the biggest change was here amongst the donors. We learned abundance in a time where scarcity was the message of the media. Education for females is culturally a low priority in the Sudan. We mandate that New Hope Schools have a minimum gender mix of 51% females. Our girls at the high school come from all over Kajo Keji Coun-

ty, roughly the size of Northampton and Lehigh counties. They sleep on the floors of the classrooms. We are currently raising an additional $54,000 to build a girl’s dormitory. Pray about this and see if you can find a way to help us build this dorm. Make your checks out to “New Hope – Dorms” and mail to Diocesan House, 333 Wyandotte Street, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania 18015. May God Bless and Keep You!
