Student Venture Showcase EVERY SEMESTER , the Dingman Center collaborates with entrepreneurship classes at Maryland Smith to host Terp Marketplace, a venue for student entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products on campus. In the spring, the Dingman Center launched a virtual alternative, Dingman TV, a channel devoted to commercials produced by student entrepreneurs.

SPOTLIGHT: ModBars, LLC ModBars, LLC and their customizable granola bars had a big year. In the fall, founders Jeff Su ’20 and Wyatt Talcott ’21 competed in the Pitch Dingman Competition Semifinals. They ramped up sales during New Venture Practicum in the spring, and capped off their semester with a Jason ’96 & Jamie Cohen Entrepreneurship Fund Award of $1,000 and acceptance into our Terp Startup accelerator.

When founder Caroline Ta ’21 first walked into the Dingman Center, her french macaron and cake catering business was already achieving significant monthly sales. After making it to Pitch Dingman Competition Finals, she enrolled in Ladies First Founders to get an entrepreneurial skillset to match her self-taught baking prowess. Now in Terp Startup, Caroline is focusing on a vision for scaling her catering business.
