Working with Your CD The CD that accompanies this book serves a dual purpose. First, it gives you the opportunity to hear the pieces that you will be studying played correctly in tempo. Second, and perhaps more important, it gives you the opportunity to play along as if playing a duet with a teacher, singer, or instrumentalist. Your parts are recorded on the right track, and the second parts, either teacher accompaniments or melodies for you to accompany, are on the left track. Thus you can learn your part playing with the right track, then play in duet with the left track. This interactivity presents some challenge and is an excellent way to learn when a live teacher is not available. The track list enables you to coordinate your book and CD, and a helpful slogan to remember is “You’re always on the right track.” CREDIT FOR CD Instrumentalists: Edward Flower, Guitar Nellie W.
