Lead by Example

I can understand the column for caring for dogs, but can we have some care for us humans?

The dog leads were always six feet long for the purpose of controlling the dog. Someone in their distorted wisdom decided that a dog lead can now be 30 feet long. The animal cannot be under control from that distance, so can Yaxley Parish Council make a name for itself by being brave enough to ban them? I hope the publicity can trigger action across the country.

I love dogs so I will give you a poem for amusement. The doggies held a meeting, they came from near and far, Some came by motor cycle and some by motor car, Each doggie made its entrance, each doggie signed the book, Then each unzipped it’s backside and hung it on a hook. One doggie was not invited, it sorely raised its ire, It ran into the meeting hall and loudly shouted “Fire”, And then amongst confusion and without a second look, Each doggie grabbed a backside from off a different hook, And that’s the reason why folks, wherever you may roam, You’ll see doggies sniffing backsides to try and find their own!

Could the humans also keep their cars off the pavements? It started with two wheels but it is now almost the whole car and people young and old are having to walk in the road to get past. Perhaps the local police could do something? Thank you, John Smith (big John)
