Who’s in Charge

As you view our center fold picture, I am sure you can relate if you consider it for a while. Our theme for this edition is “Who’s in Charge?” I have an idea that many, if not most of you, have said or thought this question in recent months.

We Americans across the nation have endured several months of baby formula shortages, food shortages, gasoline price spikes, workers needed most everywhere one goes, not to mention the skyrocketing prices for food, clothing, building materials, and furniture. And catastrophically, there is the lack of following laws by the criminals, the leaders, and elected and appointed judges and lawyers. And, unimaginably, criminals are going free after having broken the law. Plus, another big elephant in the room is America’s borders. Texas borders are totally out of control because of lack of manageable laws to govern illegals coming into America through our borders. All of these are concerns of many average people in this country. We Americans do and could often question, “Who’s in charge?”

My immediate answer to such a question or the place my mind immediately goes to is God. He truly is in charge. He, however, gives man free will. He gives us choice. We may go toward the good or go toward the greed, the self-focus, the anger, the indifference, the lies, the misinformation…the list could go on and on. He gives man opportunity to choose Him and to live well or to go his own way, and make his god: money, power, destruction, self-indulgence, hatred, death, and even destruction of someone who innocently thinks differently, or acts differently. So, who is in charge of our wonderful country, America, the USA? Politicians we may have aligned with have recently gone to the wrong side on issues that are harmful to the average American. They’ve sold out. So, do we then think who is in charge of our government, the spending, the adherence to our Constitution, the love of freedom for all…following the basic rights our governance provides us? Give that some thought when you go to the poles and use your American right to VOTE. Be an informed citizen. Pray for our nation, pray to the One who alone can save, can salvage our United States.
