Dear Summer, Oh how I’ve missed you! I have waited with baited breath for you to show your glorious face again and blow your warm breeze across my backyard like a hairdryer stuck on HIGH. I’ve prepared for your coming by stocking up on sunscreen, brightly colored beach towels, cheap wayfarers and a 9-foot inf latable toucan for the pool. I’ve explained to my plants that while their death will surely sadden me, I will f ind comfort in the rays of the Texas sun and 115 degree heat. Yes summer, I’ve waited impatiently long enough.
