Welcome to the Tribe
Are you reading this article, and do you surround yourself with technology day in day out? Well welcome to the club of digital natives! But what does it mean exactly to be a digital native?
Marc Prensky coined this term for the first time in 2001 to describe a new generation of people. A generation of people that was born with technology all around it. As digital natives we behave and think differently and perhaps even our brains have physically changed because of this.

We are all quite literally 'native speakers' of the digital language of computers, video games and internet, as Mr. Prensky found. As opposed to older generations, digital immigrants, our lives completely revolve around technology and whether you like it or not, we simply can't live without it. In other words, we as digital natives speak an entirely new language as compared to digital immigrants who are struggling to keep up with the pace!
