A Installation Instructions : 1.

Attach GDGD Housing (F) to the 1” wide straight portion ** of the Garage Door Arm (E) using the Clamp (G) as shown in diagram

2.

Secure Clamp (G) tightly using a crescent wrench or the GDGD Installation Tool (H) (if supplied) as shown in picture

3.

Release Cord (D) will fit in the slot of GDGD Housing and can be released from inside the garage door but will be protected from outside access. After Installation, pull the release cord toward the top of the garage door at a 90 degree angle. If the cord does not bind in the slot, thus allowing the manual release mechanism to activate, either wrap a piece of tape around the cord where the cord engages the bottom of the slot, or replace the pull cord with a heavier cord.

** If the Straight Arm (E) is 1 1/4” wide, use the slotted end of the Installation Tool to bend the “V” notched portion of the GDGD Housing down to a 90 degree angle.. The “V” notch is located at the bottom of the housing. INSTALLATION FOR LOW OVERHEAD GARAGE DOORS: When there is low overhead clearance for the installation of a garage door, the straight & curved door arms are joined together near the carriage assembly release arm. Loosen the two bolts that hold the arms together and install the Guard Dawg on the straight garage door arm. Re-tighten the two bolts and install the clamping device over both arms securely.
