Most significantly, while in residence that summer, McLarty met Diane Tesitor, a young University of Colorado English and theater major who worked for the festival that summer. Their relationship quickly developed into a love at first sight romance. Their instant attraction created some difficulties for McLarty who, at the time, was engaged to a Rhode
