n a near future South Africa, two poverty-stricken young scrap collectors from Cape Town find a busted robot under a pile of junk. They fix it by chance, but only to find that the robot has damaged its memory and seems to have a dark past. They decide that together they will attempt to find its creator and solve the mystery of its past. But little do they know that since the robot has been re-activated a tracing signal has alerted its creators, SAFTEK (a clandestine weapons developer for the South African government), who is desperate to destroy it. At the helm of the development program is Dr. Josef Konrad, chief developer. At his instruction they deploy a search and destroy unit to terminate it. Soon the unit shows up at the boys’ house, which consequentially gets destroyed when they attack the amnesiac robot. The boys realize

that what they have discovered was not just a robot, but also a highly weaponized machine, which to their surprise singlehandedly defeats the search and destroy unit. The trio is forced to go on the run and become fugitives as law enforcers and SAFTEK hunt them at every turn.
