Charity Initiatives MEET FREE MONDAY This initiative encourages everyone to cut meat and fish out of their diet, for at least one day a week. Doing so helps to reduce our reliance on the meat and fish farming industry, as well as improving our health and lowering our environmental impact on the planet.

LINDA MCCARTNEY CENTER The Linda McCartney Centre offers some of the most advanced and innovative cancer treatments available in the UK today.

PETA - OVIS 21 People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time.

KERING FOUNDATION Launching on Saturday November 7th, the initiative runs through November 25th to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The DNA

From recycling in our stores to using biodegradable materials in our collections, our goal is and always will be to choose the most environmentally friendly option possible.

In the fashion industry we are the only company that combines social responsibility and eco with luxury as a symbolic element of our DNA and has initiated and succeeded in making appealing non leather goods.

DETERMINATION We are uncompromising in the pursuit of excellence.

RESPONSIBLE We are conscious and aware of the impact we have on the world and with each other.

APPROACHABLE We bring positive energy and openness to everything we do.

PASSION We engage and inspire those around us.

LEGACY We build for our future success through creating value in a sustainable way

HONEST We stay true to our values.

Since 2013‌ What has been achieved We are working to ensure that we are supporting safe and fair working conditions across our supply chain and that our products are made with integrity. 1.

All of our wood products since 2013 are made form sustainably certified wood, just as our iconic Elyse shoes

We are partnered with the NGO Canopy and we made a commitment to ensure that all of our viscose and other cellulose fabrics (fabrics that come from wood pulp) are sustainably certified by 2017 and come from sustainably managed and certified (Forest Council Stewardship certified) forests in Sweden or sources that have been verified to be free from ancient and endangered forests.

2. Our iconic Falabella bags are lined with fabric made from recycled plastic water bottles.

3. We have first introduced ‘Eco Alter Nappa’, a new eco material for our vegetarian friendly shoes and bags.

Launched in Autumn 2013, this innovative material has a coating created with over 50% vegetable oil (a renewable resource) and a backing that is made of recycled polyester. This enables us to use less petroleum in our products. The vegetable oil used in this material comes from non-food sources.

4. Organic Cotton.

Organic cotton is grown for at least 3 years without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or genetic engineering

Organic cotton farming uses water efficiently, does not involve harmful chemicals, restores and maintains soil health and promotes hig social and working standards for farmers

5. Econyl® Regenerated Nylon •

ECONYL® is a regenerated (recycled) nylon that is made from fishing nets as well as factory waste

It is considered to be the most sustainable option on the market for recycled nylon. For each tonne of ECONYL®, 7 barrels of crude oil are saved and 4.2 tonnes of CO2 emissions are avoided. It is also takes significantly less energy to produce recycled materials. Our recycled nylon has a 28% reduction on greenhouse emissions and recycled polyester takes less than half the energy to produce than virgin polyester

Recycled materials help to keep plastic, like water bottles, out of landfills

6. Regenerated Cashmere

Cashmere on average has 100 times the environment impact of Wool. Cashmere production is destroying the grasslands in Mongolia and causing desertification. In the 1990s there were 4 million goats in Mongolia now there are more than 100 million

All of our Cashmere comes from regenerated Cashmere made from unused production waste. This is a 92% reduction in environmental impact, as compared to virgin Cashmere

The yarn is certified to the Global Recycling Standards (GRS), which ensures its integrity

Additionally, we are supporting on-the-ground work in Mongolia to begin reversing the desertification and restoring the grasslands

7. MODERN BOLT THREADS

MoMA – Items: Is Fashion Modern?

Vegan silk, made in a lab

Bolt Threads has developed a technology to replicate the silk production process

They are developing a silk protein by putting genes into yeast. Bolt is able to produce the protein through fermentation, using yeast, sugar and water – essentially they are brewing silk

The process allows for optimization of the silk protein for specific attributes, like strength, stretch or softness. This ability to tune the fibers opens exciting possibilities for creating new, innovative products

Bolt’s silk has been designed to be more like ‘spider’ silk than the traditional silkworm silk

Stella McCartney Spring 2018 RTW Collection

With signature Stella wit, the Pre Spring’18 collection explores constructioning, manipulating and disrupting garments to transform them afresh. Unexpected cuts, fabrics spliced together, ribbed knits and drawstrings play with form and proportion. A tailored jacket is slashed at the side seams to move a masculine silhouette into sensual, feminine territory. A dress is spliced at the back to allow it to peel away from the body. Drawstrings, this time topped with silk ruffles, wrap around trousers tightening to create a collapsed paperbag waist. Following on from last season’s clarion call, ‘All is Love’ runs down the seams of skirts and jackets, trailing like ribbons. The words, in a knitted rib, pucker the silhouettes and disrupt their proportions. There’s the strip of viscose running down the leg of a pair of trousers. It sneaks out past the hem and trails across the floor. Further embellishment to the collection comes from smatterings of pearls. Swatches of them are stitched onto garments. A birds of paradise motif makes up the second print in the collection. Bold block colours of walnut, leaf green, tan and lilac are championed, too. A key trouser shape for the season – a masculine crop – was inspired by an image of Kate Moss walking with Johnny Depp in London in 1995.

LUREX, GATHERING

Creative gathering is used to develop a new take on a paper-bag.

The Brynn Skirt (Look 1, 5, 21, 35) is the skirt of the season, intended to be an update on a classic wrap skirt. Drawstrings are partially ruched to create a gentle yet flattering gather across the body.

The step is more subtle in the Gali Dress (Look 5), which has a sliced neckline to give a window of skin. The drawstring can be tied tightly around the waist for a more gathered effect, or loose and billowing for a relaxed attitude. LOOK 5

There is an added tie detail on the underarm of the sleeve, which allows for it to be gathered and made shorter or left free.

501302 SKA03

496980 SKA03

SKHA03 – Italian-made highly twisted polyester lurex yarn are made into a crepe fabric that create soft gathers. The fabric has a slightly washed finish for a smooth handle feel.

PINSTRIPE, MASCULINE/FEMININE TAILORING

Classic Savile Row tailoring is explored through deconstruction, contrasting masculine and feminine forms.

SKB01 – Italian-made worsted100% wool twill pinstripe tailoring with a matte finish. Worsted-spun yarns are spun from fibres that have been combed, to ensure they all run in the same direction. The result is a fine, light-weight fabric that has a tight finish.

LOOK 22

The Wellesley Jacket (Look 22) is one of the key tailoring silhouettes of the season.

It is a double breasted, peak lapel, boyfriend jacket with an accentuated “cut-away” - a nod to the theme of deconstruction in the collection.

The cut-out leaves sharp edges to give the impression that the fabric has been quite literally shirred off.

496813 SKB01 LOOK 22 SUB

This “chip” opens up the jacket to give a twist on a traditional Men’s silhouette and allow for a more relaxed attitude when worn.

The Hani Trouser (Look 22) is a cropped, slightly carrot-shaped leg, modernized by the addition of a Velcro tab. 495737 SKB01 LOOK 22

DENIM

Signature silhouettes are updated in denim in Spring 18.

The Summer 17 Benni Trouser returns with a slightly more elongated leg in lightweight dark blue denim, tying in with the drawstring detail prominent in the collection.

In Look 24, it is paired with the Reina Shirt, which is a true play in proportions.

Slim through the body, this utility shirt is given a twist with oversized sleeves .

The slightly stretched out collar shape is a nod to the 70s, echoing the nostalgic feel of the look book.

LOOK 24

SIH20 - Italian light weight denim with a deep indigo colour to enhance the wash. It contains 2% Lycra in the weft to add softness and comfort. The garments are processed with a delicate enzyme stone wash to achieve a subtle worn look.

SKH10 - Italian made denim with a marked salt and pepper effect. The yarn is ring spun, which creates unique surface characteristics in the fabric, such as unevenness, giving jeans an authentic vintage look. Designed over 25 years ago, this fabric is amongst the most authentic. The versatile medium-dark shade performs exceptionally in laundry processes, always keeping its rich and brilliant shade.

‘All is Love’ runs down the seams of shirts, skirts, dresses, and jersey pieces.

The words, knitted into compact ribs, puckers the silhouettes and disrupt their proportions.

The garments are slightly oversized, which was sucked in by the rib to manipulate the silhouette and balloon the sleeves of checked cotton shirts and dresses. 502812 SKW17

501622 SJA06

Sustainable viscose light cady in bold colours is carefully draped to create simple, elongated silhouettes. The voluminous shapes loop, tuck, and return on themselves to make exaggerated silhouettes. Careful draping creates a column-like silhouette from the front, with a more dramatic volume at the back of the garment. The looping return of fabric gives the illusion of the dresses being made up in a single piece.

SJA06 – Italian-made highly twisted crepe. Sustainable viscose yarn woven in a slightly satin-y cady. The subtle shine allows the fabric to take colour exceptionally well.

LAYERED KNITS

LOOK 8

LOOK 14

A mix of differing ribs in lightweight royal baby alpaca or sheet cotton yarn are layered up with each other, revealing subtle details such as mismatched and sliced seams. Cropped chunky knits in regenerated cashmere add colour and texture, adorned with ties and tunnels that gather in volume.

S1857 – Chunky yet light and airy ribs knitted in our sustainable regenerated cashmere. Exaggerated drawstring tunnels are engineered into the garments to gather in volume, giving shape and softness.

BIRDS OF PARADISE PRINT, SLICING

Hand-painted birds of paradise print speak of sunnier, topical climes and give a nod to the original Aloha shirts of the 50s.

Continuing the conversation of the bricolage looks from Winter 17, panels of silk crepe de chine and sustainable viscose cady slash through printed silk and merino wool knits to challenge construction.

Strips are inserted to create asymmetry and fall off the shoulder in a purposeful manner, giving a relaxed attitude.

SKA12 – Italian-made silk crepe de chine base with a light washed finishing. Printed in our exclusively designed and hand-painted birds of paradise in Rose, Pale Blue, and Black.

LOOK 1

LOOK 4

S1847 – Certified sustainable fine merino wool is sliced through with silk crepe de chine, subtly distorting the garments and pushing off the volume. Strips of fabric are inserted into classic shapes by opening up the seams to create a feeling of soft deconstruction, a theme echoed throughout the look book.

S1849 – Knitted in a 100% cotton yarn with a modern hand-feel. Shapes are inspired by vintage images of sailors with contrast colour bands running down the side of kick flare trousers. Extended bands fall off an oversized sweater with small hammered gold buttons, linking in with the theme of slicing and deconstruction. LOOK 30

TUXEDO Having trained at Savile Row, Stella has always been passionate about tailoring. In particular, the mix of masculine and feminine elements in tuxedos.

Jackets and coats are fully lined in satin, finished with a contrast piping, to layer smoothly over silk charmeuse blouses and tops.

The pieces are topped with matte duchesse covered buttons and slightly shiny, lustrous duchesse inserts.

(1) Double breasted jacket using a modern, Italian-made polyester velvet with a smooth and clean surface. Featuring jet pockets and a silk-blend duchesse shawl collar.

(2) Based on Stella’s classic Eden trousers, these gently flared, cropped trousers give a twist to the traditional notion of a tuxedo silhouette.

SILK STRIPES SHIRTING

496038 SKA11

Italian-made silk stripes with a repeating weave. Slightly washed to give a worn finishing. Used on the season’s key silhouettes, including the Frances Top and Brynn Skirt for a take on a new pijama.

DENIM

(1 & 2) Made using 98% organically grown Italian cotton with 2% Lycra fibre in the weft. •

It is a left hand twill construction which gives it a luxurious soft handle

The garments undergo a short wash cycle before they are over-dyed. An extended enzyme stone wash is applied to give a washed-out look and a softer hand feel

The colour links in with the RTW tailoring and knits, originally inspired by an image of Ali McGraw from the 70s

SWAROVSKI NET EMBROIDERY INSERT

A crystal Swarovski net is hand embroidered in Italy and posed on the garment. It is fixed and finished by hand into the deep V cut-outs of the column dress.

The net gives a subtle window of skin for a sophisticated look.

501965 SGB03

Panels of pearl “samplers, with varying densities and sizes of pearls, are draped into dresses and tops.

Embroidered on sustainable viscose stretch cady, this patchworking of pearl swatches echoes the theme of deconstruction.

Elsewhere, pearls are embroidered in a uniform and systematic manner, such as on the alter short hair fur.

All embroideries are hand made in Italy.

SOLID & GOLD EMBROIDERY

501477 SCA06

501895 SFA07

502013 SFB18

Tropical scenes – a volcano, hibiscus flowers, and a palm tree-lined beach scene – are thread embroidered by machine in Italy in lipstick red, sapphire blue, and white.

Those same summer scenes are recreated in gold metallic thread and embellished with hand-stitched gold beads by artisans in India, who specialize in this technique. Each panel on jacket 502013 SFB18 (Look 39) had to be treated separately to achieve the design requirements, consuming 8 meters of fabric! For the design team, it was a real “piece de résistance”.

SFA07 – Cotton and silk mix duchesse, made with a slightly flamed yarn and woven in one of the best mills in France. After woven, it is lightly washed. This makes it more compact, with more body and modernity. This finishing took many years to perfect, and has become a staple of Stella McCartney.

Stella McCartney Spring 2018 Bags Collection

FALABELLA FAMILY

The introduction of a new East-West shape in Falabella for Spring 18 brings modernity to our Iconic line.

All key elements of Falabella are easily recognisable, the softness, the lightness and the signature chain.

The added benefit is that the new style is also reversible, with a complementary colour that can provide a different style or even a hint of contrast.

In defined strong colour shades, the bag flips inside-out to reveal an alter suede interior. Each bag features a large visible medallion attached to the chunky main chain.

It will easily hold larger everyday essentials and includes an internal detachable pouch can also be used separately.

3 Chain Falabella

Small tote Falabella

Mini Bella

Tiny Bella

In addition to the best selling carryover materials: Shaggy deer, Shaggy deer with gold chain and Shiny dotted chamois, an important new addition has have been developed in Spring 18 : Black shaggy deer version with Black chain.

Giving a more ‘rock attitude’ to Iconic Falabella, we predict the Black with Black Chain will easily be adopted worldwide.

This style will also attract clients who prefer to avoid shiny metal finishes.

The chain on the STRAP is steel, a more sustainable metal than the more traditionally used brass, which is more harmful to the environment due to its high copper content.

The black colour is obtained through a process called PVD, where colour is applied through steam with 99.99% pure metals, resulting in very low waste.

It took years to develop this highly specialised technique that guarantees an exceptional finish and long lasting quality with low environmental impact.

All Falabella bags are handcrafted in Italy.

STELLA LOGO

Crafted from smooth alter nappa, these new modern totes are the ultimate new bag for everyday use. Roomy styles are perfect for carrying around all essentials. The bag also has a detachable pocket for smaller items. The iconic circular perforated see through logo and the remarkable light weight for its substantial size ensure the bag is comfortable to carry, whilst still looking on point.

Available in Alter Nappa which has a smooth, soft finish and lined with Alter-Suede in two colour palettes: •

New classics :black, white and powder

•

Seasonal : fluo pink, yellow and topaz

The Stella Logo line has been handcrafted in Italy,. For example the egdes are carefully brushed and haNd painted to avoid fretting, this process alone takes 2 hours.

NEWNESS The offer is growing this season with the addition of a sporty-chic flap backpack that purposely blurs the lines between sophisticated, urban and athletic styles.

FALABELLA BOX

Clean lines and a structured construction make this group contemporary and timeless. The signature chain trim lends this structured bag family instant recognition. The structured crescent shape is contemporary and timeless. In addition to our carryover colours in Eco Alter Nappa, Spring 18 introduces various new themes:

ALL IS LOVE Stella develops the “All is Love slogan on Falabella, reinforcing an important RTW seasonal theme and creating a distinctive bag with a message

EVENING An evening offer in black velvet versions including one with intricate hand stitched gold beads depicting a volcano surrounded by tropical flowers

POPPER

Launched In Spring 17, the Popper bag has attracted new clients to Stella McCartney.

The Folded bag concept, inspired by vintage luggage.

The mixed geometric lines and multi poppers give a bold yet defined utilitarian look

The bags are made from a textured Alter Nappa that has been waxed, giving it a real depth and richness as it moulds into the creased texture of the bags

The brass details the bag material and design

The chain is similar to Falabella, though has a more rounded rather than diamond cut, so the effect is more of a vintage feel, less shiny and a rich old gold colour

For Spring 18, a bright red lipstick colour has been introduced to dynamise the Popper family.
