HOW TONY FINAU WON
Location
Tony Finau missed a six-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole that would have won outright, but birdied that same par-5 hole three times in a sudden-death playoff, the last one giving him a victory over Steve Marino. Finau got up and down from a greenside bunker on the third extra hole, while Marino was on the fringe in two but took three to get down. It was the first career victory for the 26-year-old Finau in his second year on the PGA TOUR. He began the final round one behind Ian Poulter, jumped into the lead by playing the first 10 holes in 4 under, but bogeyed 11 and 15 to shoot a 70 to fall into a tie with Marino, who birdied 18. Poulter had a 72 and tied for third with Web.com Tour player Rodolfo Cazaubon, one stroke back. Finau was long and straight off the tee, ranking fourth in Driving Distance and T14 in Driving Accuracy Percentage. Finau made only three bogeys all week, the fewest of anyone in the field. Finau was second in Par 4 Scoring at 3.88.
