2016/2017 TOURNAMENT OVERVIEW
March 22-26, 2017
World Golf ChampionshipsDell Technologies Match Play Location Austin, Texas Austin Country Club
Course Information Austin Country Club, hosting for the second year, was founded in 1899, but its current course was built on new property in 1984 and designed by Pete Dye. As configured for the tournament, a stretch of holes on the back nine is in the “lowlands” close to Lake Austin while the rest of the course is higher and more typical of Texas Hill Country. The course features deep pot bunkers and dramatic elevation changes, with a Texas accent added by extensive use of limestone slabs, quarried on site, to build revetments for tees, greens and fairways. The course is designed so that aggressive play to target areas providing the best angle of approach or best birdie chance on the green often requires flirting with the ample hazards.
