HOW J.T. POSTON WON
North Carolina native J.T. Poston came from three strokes behind with a final-round 62 to claim his first PGA TOUR victory. Poston eagled the fifth hole on the way to a front-nine 30 and had three birdies on the back nine. He finished one stroke ahead of Webb Simpson, who birdied four of the last five holes, and two ahead of 54-hole leader Byeong Hun An. Poston went the entire tournament without making a bogey. Poston ranked T1 in Greens in Regulation Percentage (86.11) and T2 in Driving Accuracy Percentage (80.36).
CHECK THIS OUT J.T. Poston became the first player since Lee Trevino (1974 Zurich Classic of New Orleans) to win without a bogey in a 72-hole stroke-play event. Poston’s 72-hole total of 258 tied the tournament record set by Henrik Stenson in 2017. Poston equaled Davis Love III (1992) for the lowest final-round score by a winner with a 62. In his last three starts at the Wyndham Championship, Webb Simpson has finished third in 2017, T2 in 2018 and second in 2019.
