SOUTHAMPTON, BERMUDA PORT ROYAL GOLF COURSE Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1970, Port Royal features ocean views from nearly every hole. The course underwent an extensive 2009 renovation spearheaded by original design team member Roger Rulewich. Yardage: 6,828; par 71.

Charity Benefit The tournament’s primary beneficiaries are the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) and junior golf. The tournament also supports numerous local organizations through their participation in the volunteer program recruitment.
HOW BRIAN GAY WON
Brian Gay birdied six of the last 10 holes of regulation, he then added another on the first hole of a playoff to beat Wyndham Clark. Gay shot a final-round 64, overcoming a bogey on 17 with a 3-foot birdie on 18 and a 12-foot birdie on the first extra hole. Clark was 7-under through 12 holes but 1-over the rest of the way in a 65, and missed a 7-footer for a birdie in the playoff. Gay ranked T4 in Driving Accuracy Percentage at 58.93. Gay ranked first in Par 4 Scoring Average at 3.66.
CHECK THIS OUT The Bermuda Championship became a stand-alone event for the 2019-20 season when the World Golf Championships-HSBC Championship was canceled. The winner received 500 FedExCup points. At age 48, Brian Gay became the oldest winner of a PGA TOUR event since Davis Love III (51) at the 2015 Wyndham Championship. It was Gay’s first victory since 2013. Gay became the third player in his 40s to win in the first eight events of the 2020-21 season, joining Stewart Cink and Sergio Garcia.
