Rolande Kirstein, who attended Klein Vyf Kleuterskool at Vaalwater last year, was super excited to head over to “big school” this year with her friends and start Grd R at Laerskool Vaalwater. “I am excited to have these little ones in my class, and honoured to lay down their foundation,” said Chantal Robbertse, Grd R educator at Laerskool Vaalwater.

Zoey Joubert (head girl of Laerskool Vaalwater), Marisha Benadé and Kylie Viviers made it through to the district athletics event at Lephalale. Zoey and Marisha were both selected to represent the school for javelin, and Kylie for shotput.

Leonard Vorster, principal of Laerskool Vaalwater, and the learners all wore rugby gear on Tuesday, 7 February, to show their support towards the late Joost van der Westhuizen, a former Springbok rugby player who recently lost his battle against Motor Neuron Disease.
