Teacher: Sam Koentopp, Baker Demonstration School (Evanston) Age: 1st - 8th graders Date: Wednesdays, September 18 - October 23 (6 weeks) Time: (30 minute lessons) Lessons are offered from 4:30-5:30 pm. Important: Please arrange time with teacher before registering for class by contacting: samkoentopp@gmail.com Fee: $250 Join Mr. Koentopp as he teaches one-on-one lessons for beginners and advanced students of all ages. Students will be expected to have a pair of sticks and a practice pad. Students learn to play basic beats and rhythms, building their skills and confidence on the instrument. Once the basics are mastered, students learn to play songs starting with the Beatles and progressing to more difficult repertoire. No Experience necessary!

Teacher: Nancy Jones, Technologist Integration Specialist & Kristin Nauman, Physical Ed Teacher (A7 & H7) Age: 6th, 7th & 8th graders Dates: Wednesdays, , September 18 - October 23 (6 weeks) Time: 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. Fee: $156 + $20 materials fee = $176 Minimum Enrollment: 8; Maximum Enrollment: 20 This After School class will explore Scratch, an educational software program developed at MIT to introduce students to beginning graphical programming. By dragging together colorful blocks of code, students can learn basic computer programming concepts and create their own games and animations while also learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. It is upon to students in grades 4-8 and will meet one day a week.

Private Voice Lessons Teacher: Julie O'Connell-Roberts Age: 1st - 8th graders Dates: Wednesdays, September 18 – October 23 (6 weeks) Time: (30 minute lessons) Lessons are offered from 3:30-6:00 pm Important: Please arrange time with teacher before registering for class by contacting: julieoconnellroberts@gmail.com Fee: $250 Julie O'Connell-Roberts has been offering voice lessons at Sacred Heart Schools for the past five years. Julie received her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies with a Vocal Performance Concentration in May 2005 from the University of North Texas. While on a vocal jazz scholarship at UNT, she sang with the world-renowned One O'Clock Jazz Band and the UNT Jazz Singers. In the private lessons, students do warm ups, sight singing, breathing technique and sing solo pieces from great books for kids of all ages. Her students in the past have performed at a fall recital and at Gallery Night wowing the audience with their vocal talents!

Beginning Acoustic Guitar Lessons Teacher: Jennifer Swillinger, Library and Science Lab Assistant Age: 1st – 6th graders Dates: Wednesdays, September 18- October 23 (6 weeks) (No Class held on 10/14) Time: 4:15 - 5:00 pm or 5:00-5:45pm Important: Please arrange time with teacher before registering for class by contacting: Jennifer.Swillinger@shschicago.org Fee: $356 Students will enjoy learning and playing guitar and singing American folk, popular, and children’s songs. Chords including A, E, D, C, G, F, Am, and Em will be introduced as well as several versatile and basic strums. Each student will need to provide her/his own acoustic guitar.
