As far as I can remember I’ve always been fond of drawing, sketching short comics and cartooning my life. I basically doodled myself through high school, however, have chosen a slightly easier lifepath when deciding to rather pursue a diplom in economics. Nevertheless, I never gave up my hobby entirely and always looked for ways to mix it with my chosen profession. Fortunately this passion of mine was recognised at Budapest Airport where I worked for 4 years and so I was given the chance to create different artworks as part of my job. Thus this portfolio shows examples of both my home-made and on the job works.

Drawings Though I have many half-finished, not thorough drawings, hereby I’d like to give examples of works when I really took my time. The things that inspired these pics were grimaces of friends, my grandmother, fencers and short stories.

Plasticine Just like every girl sometimes I also catch myself making jewellery, most of the time out of plasticine. These sushi shaped pieces are my favourite ones.

Timber The preparations for last Christmas were spent with discovering wood as a material. The pictures show a multi-function carp-shaped angling stool, a gift for my father. The eye of the carp can hold a fishing rod while beercans fit in the mouth.

Silver I most enjoy creating when the result is to be a present for someone. This hummingbird was made for my sister’s 25th birthday. Actually I carved the form out of a special wax and let professionals mold the form.

Gazdagrét logo

Maki my day

I’ve recently became familiar with the concept of free online courses such as Skillshare and Coursera and I already took a short course on the latter called Logo Design: brand your hometown. The logo below is for the housing estate I live on and depickts the silhouette of a distinctive statue.

This graphic was made for a friend’s T-shirt. Maki means monkey in Hungarian, so it’s a little pun.

Banners The below banners appeared on Ryanair’s Hungarian website promoting Bologna, Hamburg and München.

Website services The below banner was the main creative for Budapest Airport’s spring online campaign consisting of a prize draw and a booking promotion. The slogan sais: Summer is coming, you could be going! The artwork was used on several surfaces: website banner spaces, facebook, gate monitors, newsletter, etc.

I redesigned www.bud.hu’s flight information to create a more user-friendly service. Check the working widget by clicking here.

Children’s corner The decoration of the airport’s two children play areas was one of my most enjoyable yet most time-consuming tasks. My favourite character is a sloth hanging from a cloud.

Information walls The information walls are very simple in design but are eye-catching and in line with the terminals signage and atmosphere.

A repülőtér biztonsága kiemelten fontos számunkra! Amennyiben bármilyen gyanús jelenséget (például a kerítésen kívül, netán belül furcsán viselkedő személyeket, vagy a repülőtér területén kóborló gazdátlan állatokat) észlelsz, kérjük, hívd a következő telefonszámot! These examples are passenger information posters, snow vehicle stickers and a billboard cheering for our Olympics in 2012.

Routes Europe 2013 The logo, print ad and banner were designed to promote the upcoming Routes Europe conference held this year in Budapest. This is the most important aviation conference in Europe and the ads appeared in the international aviation media, both digital and online. The logo appeared on our stands, brochures, clothes and accesories and will be used during the conference as well. HUNGARY

Mobile application campaign 2014 The mobile application of Budapest Airport launches this summer.

Theft prevention campaign The brochure and monitor ads were designed to call passengers’ attention to baggage theft. The aim was to create awareness while at the same time avoiding to scare people and to position Budapest Airport as a place where you are more likely to get robbed.

Valentine’s Day campaign We’ve surprised passengers on Valentine’s Day 2014 with a special gift: Their friends and relatives escorting them to the airport had a chance after farewell to send a message and a little gift package to their loved ones who were already waiting at their gate. We’ve recorded a viral video of the campaign reaching 77000 views on YouTube and thousands of shares and positive feedback on Facebook. Message: I miss you already! Airport Guide I created this 64 page long publication in support of travel agencies who know little about the airport and its processes. It is distributed during our yearly roadshows where we tour main cities in the catchment area holding workshops for aviation and tourism partners.

Object visuals On the left there are VIP card layouts for a new product that might be available in the near future designed for frequent business travellers. On the bottom of the page there are BUD branded model airplane prototypes.
